And where are Lumbye and Britten, IGI? Looks like they both missed their connection.

Lumbye was on the subs' bench, but I confess I'd forgotten about Night Mail!  Embarrassed

Coronation Scot!

Am I right in thinking Nigel Hawthorne recorded Night Mail?

Others who misread the departures board include...

Revueltas - Construction of the Railroad
Bernstein - Subway Ride and Imaginary Coney Island (On the Town)
Billy Strayhorn - Take the A Train
Weill - Marie Galante: Le Train du ciel

We regret to announce that the ALW Starlight Express has been cancelled 'cos it's rubbish  Cheesy

IGI, surely Night Mail has been delayed due to a points failure at Swindon (Point of order - what IS the point of Swindon? With apologies to any Swindonians from here).

And just for Ruth, here's a picture of part of my train set:

I'm on the train in question, which is why I couldn't get to the Tristan und Isolde dress rehearsal  Cry

And our final destination?

Alternatively, Mr Sondheim may be at the ticket barrier:

Or we could end up in Tennessee!

Incidentally, if this is the Little Train of Caipira, you'll appreciate the opening to Villa-Lobos' composition.

So how about

Tchaikovsky - Symphony no.2, "Little Russian"
Janáček - Mládi (Youth)
Rachmaninov - "Youth Symphony"
Elgar – Dream Children
Coates - "Children's Dance" from the Miniature Suite
Kabalevsky - Parade of the Youth op.31

This seems far too simple though.
