Nothing Promethean, I'm afraid. It is a common word connection.

Pastoral? That seems rather too easy for you IGI... Oh. Can't find a Khachaturian pastoral. Back to the drawing board.

No. I can't imagine Khachaturian doing 'pastoral' somehow!

This is beginning to bother me now... I'm toying with the idea of something to do with variations on a children's song, or something to do with Faust, but nothing is looking particularly obvious.

Hope the decorators were not too distracting, IGI, but any chance of a clue after three days?

The decorators have now departed, having done the whole house (well, walls only) in three days. Most of that time I was out at work or, today, in London, so it's been good to return each evening and find another room done! A clue? Does this mean you're admitting defeat?

Finnissy, English Country Tunes Beethoven, Symphony no. 6 'Pastoral' Spahlinger, Passage/Paysage Broughton, nuts. The only thing I found even remotely plausible was English Music but this would require looking again at the Beethoven and Spahlinger... How off-beam am I?
