Stop WHATEVER you're doing and go get the new disc of Barrett, Mahler and Graupner played in mean-tone temperament by Fanfare Ciocarlia under Kiril Kondrashin. It turns my crank, makes tulips grow in my garden and alters the flow of the ocean currents.

John Wood the younger got his ideas for some of the City of Bath's greatest buildings from an in-depth study of...

MORNINGTON CRESCENT!

As Richard Ingrams used to say. "It must be true, I read it in The Daily Telegraph".

In the last 2 days, I've found 5 frogs in the garden.  Three were this years tadpoles, the other 2 were last years.

(No, seriously, I have!)   Cheesy

Why do I still have a few tadpoles in my pond?

That question cannot be answered without first bearing in mind the foreign policy of Mátyás Rákosi in Hungary, before he was deposed following Stalin's death, leading to a temporary period of liberalisation that was later quashed by Soviet troops.

Hi John,
That's possibly because the eggs were laid later in the season so are behind 'our' frogs!  Not really sure though, shells are my area of excellence!

Ian, isn't that jumping the gun a little? Surely Liszt's orchestral output is deserving of a bit more cultural perspective if we're really going to nail this whole Faust debate.

And her mother came too.
But Richard Barrett's mother declined to do so in case there might be any Birtwistle on the programme.

I believe in these days of political correctitude, one must now refer to them as "Frenchies", Jonathan. And are you sure they were five different ones? Did you see them all together at once, or two on one day, and three on the second (or vice versa)? And that being the case, how do you know that you didn't see the same two on separate occasions? Or at least one of them twice? They all look the same to me.

*sound of BA-BAAAA* - martle, the fact that Liszt was Hungarian and that I had mentioned Hungary makes for FAR TOO MUCH OF AN ON-TOPIC LINK!!!!

(Hmmm - wasn't that on topic as well?)

Anyhow, I have only one thing to say to you on this subject, which is that you can't get quicker than a Kwik Fit fitter.

That may be true, but will one be capable of carrying out repairs on that Sinclair C5 that you bought with the net proceeds of sale of your shares in Hoseasons?
