Mine's all right, too.

It was sticking a bit on the "Show new replies" link.  It's ok now.

PW - I don't know which George Benjamin piece was played, but there was a big fuss over Ringed by the Flat Horizon when it appeared. He was going to be the Next Big Thing. I'm not sure that this has happened.
Only just seen this. He did - sort of. Arguably in a more interesting way, in that he didn't become particularly famous but carried on writing some very good pieces*. He just slowed down a lot, that's all.

*If you're interested, I'd recommend Viola, Viola (for 2 violas, surprise surprise!), Antara (for flutes, MIDI keyboards and chamber orchestra) and the wonderful recent short (45-minute) opera Into the Little Hill, based on a re-working of the Pied Piper story by Martin Crimp. That had its UK premiere in Birkenhead back in April as part of the Liverpool City of Culture celebrations, but it hasn't been recorded yet so I suppose you'd have to wait a bit to hear that one.

Good morning. I don't feel 100% awake yet...
But I must soon be off to retrieve as much Gesualdo as I can find.

For the first time that I can remember, I'm the first person of the day to post here.

Good morning, everybody.

Other half is going down to the National Fruit Farm at Brogdale near Faversham to buy apples to lay in for the winter.  See what extraordinarily named variety he comes up with this time.

We were told by a stallholder at the local market, that the European equivalent of Brogdale's Apple Day is an event called Europomme.

It's a fine sunny day and there are thumbscrews to apply....  Cheesy

Besides which, the decorators will be here to finish off today so I want to get ready to clear off and leave them to it.
