I once got 1,000 lines for sticking a "Den of Antiquity" notice on the Staff Room door.
Is this at school or at Whitehall, George?

Morning all. Oh, not quite. Well, close enough.

I remember someone including "Purple Haze" by The Common Room Experience in a spoof Top Ten in a 6th form magazine when I was at school (inevitably the Staff Common Room was always thick with smoke). There was also "The Wind Cries Maori" by Mr MacWilliams (a kiwi Geography teacher).

Shouldn't all this be on The Happiest Days of Your Life thread?

'Lines' meant something different then.
What does it mean now? That's the second time in as many days I've been made to feel hopelessly out of date.

Ooh Ooh Ooh! Please sir! Me sir!
Is this a reference to some kind of drug taking activity sir?

Stupid boy - go and iron a shirt.
Hmm. Must take some sandpaper to the soles of these shoes before I wear them in public. Possibly not the most sensible purchase ever but I quite like them.

Oh I see. I think it was the quantity of lines mentioned that caused me to miss that reference.

Yesterday my boss asked me how people take crack cocaine, which was fun trying to explain. Roll Eyes

You're coming out of the closet as a cloggie, hh? Good for you. Go for it!  Grin

I'm an almost total innocent when it comes to the world of recreational substances. If anyone feels like offering instruction on what it is you actually do with the milk bottle and the silver Kit-Kat paper, together perhaps with a small 'starter pack' of samples, at the next R3OK meet up I will be in your debt... possibly from then on.

It was all a very long time ago, t-i-n, and I'm not sure if sherbert dip even counts as a classified substance these days.

Only if it enters through the nose, George, I believe.
