Good evening everybody. I am finally home. My day went well. There is no leak anywhere for now. The house is not very durty. I am not hungry because I ate in friend's house. My friend on the bicycle is still in town. He has tickets to go away tomorrow morning.
I feel sad. I am so used to have him around this few days. I had such a good time. Now I have to get used to be by myself again. (I am not really by myself, but there is an empty space now).
I hope he liked it here. He was very lucky with the weather. I was glad to see him after so many years. One never knows when and if I am going to see him again.
Thank you so much Baz and A for helping me to get through the day. At one point I thought that I will not make it.
Revolutionary study practice went really well, though I still can not play it properly. Now I have to revive Jeux d'eaux. But first I have to learn how to spell it so that I know what I am playing. For now I am doing it with control and copy.
I am sure that I will master the spelling in a couple of years.
I never laughed so much in my life, especially in situation like this. You are the funniest people I know.

I obviously forgot what thread I was on. Please accept my apologies.
Good morning. Did you sleep well?
I did not sleep too well. I woke up in the middle of the night at about 4 o'clock. I decided to get up and walk a little. I came to the computer room and saw that there is a message in my mobile phone. Before I go any further I have to tell you that a friend helped me to buy a mobile phone. He brought it yesterday while I was teaching my student with ADD. I just want to tell you that I do not know how to use it. My friend tested the phone by calling me from his mobile phone.
In the middle of the night (and I am always lazy to read an instruction) I decided to read my message. As it turn out I called and woke my friend at about 4.30.
Of course I apologized so much, etc. After this I needed another hour to calm down.
I am still upset about it.

Good morning, t-p. New technology (phones, computers etc) always defeats me at first, too. You will get used to it. My mobile phone is very out of date now, but I am nervous about getting a new one because I know I will have difficulty using it! If your friend had switched off his phone at night, you would not have woken him, so don't blame yourself. That is just the sort of thing I can imagine myself doing. I slept rather well, unusually for me. I put the winter duvet on the bed, instead of the summer one. Much better! It was so cold last night, but bright, bright sun this morning, for a change .

I also had an old mobile. My friend's daughter old mobile. I think it was five years old. Now he persuaded me to buy a new mobile. I think I got a message, but don't know how to read it. There is a big user guide to read and I am not in the mood to do that. I think it can be my Greek friend. May be they need a lift or something. May be she wants to meet. I could not answer her message last evening too and still dont know what that first message is about and who is the second message from.
This mobile can send pictures and connect to the net or something. He bought it on e-bay for 80 euro. I think I don't need this phone, but he knows better. I don't like to decide on what to buy. I will leave happy if I don't have to make decisions. Decision making is a very difficult task for me.
We have rain again.

Morning all. Cool and gloomy here. Certainly dark enough to have the lights on. It feels as though we have slipped into Autumn already, not necessarily a bad thing. It's my favourite season

It is a grey day here too. We have not seen the sun for many days now. I have the lights on. They go to collect mushrooms in Autumn in Russia. It was so much fun to go by bus from Moscow to some near by forest and collect mushrooms. Usually such trips were organized from people's jobs. They would go early morning and return late at night. Mushrooms from the forest have stronger taste.

Good morning. It's grey-ish here, too, but dry. I'm thinking I ought to do some weeding, but I don't want to, so I'm doing this to put it off.
I've heard about mushroom-picking in Russia - it must be fun, rather like blackberrying which we used to do. Children love going to fruit farms to pick strawberries and raspberries, as well.
I love autumn as well, Mort. As soon as the apples begin to look like apples, and the leaves begin to colour, I get a sense of expectation and excitement that easily rivals spring. I think it's probably something to do with the excitement I always felt about going back to school. I know some people hate autumn and see it as the beginning of the end, but that's not the effect it has on me at all.

My favourite season too: not least for the light and colours. It's when I take most photographs: even on dull days scenes are often worth capturing.

Milly - I didn't like the Psammead in the television adaptation. Much better to leave it to the imagination. THE SUN IS OUT!!!

It's one of the Angus Glens, Glen Clova, Rob: up country from Kirriemuir, J M ( Peter Pan) Barrie's birthplace - north of Dundee, on the East Coast, about a half-hour's drive from me. It's a magical place, with great walking in all directions, and helped by having a nice hotel that does excellent food at the far end. That elbow corner of the river fascinates me, and I take the cameras there when I can: here's another shot from a late snow, March 17th, two years ago:

I like autumn when there's been a proper summer preceding it.
I tasted my first Hampstead Heath blackberries of the year yesterday. They don't like not having a proper summer either - lack of sunshine means even the really dark ripe ones are sour.

It marks the end of the cricket season
