What's that cyclist on the left pointing to? I don't have many of my photos available here to post but I do have this one, rather blurred, of one of my favourite examples of elaborate Victorian architecture: No doubt you can guess where it is!

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Not all that far from the pub was this: very much the hidden side of Brum, even now.

MabelJane, It does look like Aberystwyth indeed. I have not seen the place in eight years now. Aberystwyth is such a beautiful place.
Ron Dough, Where is this Brum? I can not find it. The place looks so beautiful. I feel so stupid that I don't know where it is.

Brum's the nickname for Birmingham, t-p: you should be able to find that easily enough!

No matter how well one knows second language it is never his first language. I am glad to learn some words that native use.
I only passed Birmingham and did not know how beautiful it is.

MJ - is it Alexandra Hall, at the northern-most end of the front at Aber? My mum spent a year there as a student, having been forced out of London because of the Blitz! Took her there just two years ago, for the first time in 60 years! She cried.

A couple of photographs taken with the new camera on my weekend jaunt to the Malvern Hills. The first is of the Severn Valley on the eastern side, the second is the view north from Herefordshire Beacon, otherwise known as British Camp (which features in Elgar's Caractacus):

Just for your amusement, a sunset down the end of my street. (A while ago, I hasten to add.)

Is it normal practice in Cologne for cars to be allowed to cross the road at pedestrian crossings?

Looks like it's waiting for a tram. Please reassure me that it didn't get run over, and is now receiving appropriate care for depression.

I did take another couple after that one, Kitty, and none of them show a mangled car... I'm pretty sure I would have noticed.

I noticed that the new camera can 'stitch' photos to make one panoramic spectacular....I thought this seemed the perfect subject!!
