Kitty, you're in New England, right? That's so evocative, that photo! Which state?

This is the house across the road Lovely pic, Kitty. I like the cool blue-white of the snow - I shall stop complaining I'm feeling cold here now! What temperature is it there? Is it still snowy? Here's a pic of my Welsh cousins' roundhouse a few winters ago:

It was a beautifully crisp day today, and though there was snow at ground level further west, here only the higher Gorms (just up the road) are white, though probably for the duration.

We had a glorious sunshine yesterday. Today is more cloudy day. This picture is beautiful. The view is satisfying. I am trying to tell myself that I imagine problems and the world is a beautiful place. Thank you, Ron Dough, for a beautiful picture.
Also Kitty's picture is beautiful. I heard there was storm in the USA. I hope you are all right.
I find MabelJane house very cute and funny. Thank you for posting.

Thanks for your concern, T-P. I am fine, snug at home as much as possible, although the driveway was a bit of a problem for a few days when it iced up. The van now has winter (i.e. studded) tires making the climb much less worrying.
MJ, the temperature generally hovers around zero from now until April, but by February we can expect to see temperatures drop to the minus 20's sometimes. Your cousin's house looks perfect to me! Was it custom built? or a traditional design?

Kitty, no-one actually lives in the roundhouse but they do camp in it during the summer. (It's built in the field next to their parents house.) It's a traditional design, built using traditional methods as far as it was practically possible. Classes of school children have been to visit it and it's been used as a venue for parties etc. Not sure if it's still standing - the previous one had to be demolished as it had no planning permission and the authorities found out about it. They got permission to build this one but I believe it was for a limited duration. Edit: My cousins didn't actually design and build it themselves but it's on my uncles land. Just found it here online - it must have featured on S4C (I don't know this DW - he's not a cousin!): http://www.s4c.co.uk/04wal/e_house_p9h1.shtml

With Christmas drawing nearer, just a reminder that pines come in more shapes and sizes than we often see:

Later, when I am at home, I shall post a photo I took with my phone, from the car on the way to work yesterday morning. It's lovely and shows sunrise over a flooded field that is frozen over.

Theses are amazing colours, Ron Dough. I always think that pines are dying when they become yellow. I think that in the middle of pines are different trees (with leafs).
I find moth on the ground is interesting too. The whole picture is like modern painting.
I am looking forward to your picture, Jonathan. I don't know what is the quality of pictures from mobile phones.

Hi t-p, The quality from this phone is actually quite good - even though it is only 2 megapixels. Annoyingly, the username and log in for photobucket seems to not work - I had to create my own account! Here's the photo (hopefully)
