Although it's cold and wet and horrible outside, there's a splash of spring-like colour in the computer room. [cotitsalv]

Here's a little shop in Harborne High Street which I snapped today as I was waiting for a bus. It's been shut for ages and it looks as if it's being converted to something else now, judging from the builder's notice in the window. I can't really remember what it used to sell, old sub-antique furniture I think. I've never been able to work out the name. [cotitsalv]

I did not know they have daffodils at this time of the year. Are they real? Yesterday I noticed daffodils are starting to grow here. We have a sunny day today with not too much rain so far.

Lucky you t-p. Here on the N.W coast it's been pouring most of the day and when I went out with the dog it was bitterly cold, with a freezing wind and I got hailed on too! It's been dark all day. Had to have some lights on in the house. Still it is right for the time of year. No sign of any daffs around here.

They are real t-p and they're British but they came from a supermarket, so presumably they've been forced in a warm greenhouse.

There are feral daffs just coming into bloom by the roadside, along a section of my woodland drive into Windsor. They always bloom early along there. I guess they are escapees from a nearby garden where plants selected for early blooming were planted years ago.

Our daffodils here are not about to bloom. They are just green shoots. Aren't they are signs of Spring?

It's only January t-p, spring is a couple of months away yet. The daffodils ( which we also have displayed in full bloom in the house) are reared in greenhouses I expect , and sold through the stores... Tescos in my case!
I did see some snowdrops at the side of the road last week... in full bloom. I usually find they are first.

Ho and phew, Martle. Many thanks, that looks just the thing for restoring the soul as well as the frame!. Have a couple yourself - but not green ones. Cheers
