Lovely pictures, Andy.
This year we have so many yellow flowers that are on your pictures.
What are they? This must be good year for these flowers. I never noticed them before.

Lovely Andy.

What are they?
Bug-infested buttercups, t-p!

Couldn't you have blown them off first, Andy?  Wink

It's been a fine, sunny day here and I was delighted to see that my first poppies of the year have burst open overnight!

WOW, indeed!  In fact I could say that they are blooming lovely Grin I've never had much luck with poppies, the slugs always seem to get there first Angry Is that an aquilegia I spy in the background?

Yes, Mort, aquilegias (both blue and pink). I've hardly ever seen a slug in the ten years I've been here and the snails tend to leave the poppies alone, although they scuppered my attempts at a cottage garden by munching the delphiniums and hollyhocks.

I'm beginning to wonder if some slugs/snails are more picky in their tastes than others. They have never ventured near my hollyhocks or snapdragons, but last year they decimated all my tomato plants <sob> They've never touched them before. I long ago gave up on delphiniums and lupins. You may just as well shout 'Supper's ready!'

Grin Grin Grin Sorry, Mort, I'm sympathetic really! This garden's crawling with slugs and snails so anything I grow that I don't want them munching goes into pots with copper tape round.

they scuppered my attempts at a cottage garden by munching the delphiniums and hollyhocks.
Round here, anyone successfully growing delphniums or other slug favourites in beds must be scattering slug pellets thickly. Even if they're supposedly not poisonous to thrushes etc I don't like seeing all the dead and dying slugs and snails all over the place. We need some of these:

Here, in MrY's honour, is the latest in the ongoing seasonal series looking towards Carrot Hill (the first of which, I seem to remember, he snaffled as a screen-saver).

Wow, thank you, Ron!  Smiley

This will fit nicely on our new-bought wide-screen computer screen!  I have indeed been using your pictures regularly on my desktop...

Here's an example of the Belgian Highlands  Wink

Thank you MrY and Ron.
Thanks to you I can sit in front of my computer and feel that I have visited a few places. I have never been to Belgium.
