Interesting time in Tommo's subconscious today.  My innerpod did these in this order....

Brahms - Serenade No.2 in A, Scherzo
Orff - Carmina Burana, but oddly enough it was in IRF's O Four Tuna version  Shocked
Sinatra - Strangers in the Night (just the bit that goes "Strangers in the Night, bee dooby doo-bee")
Verdi Requiem - The chorus bit before the trumpets, and then the trumpet bit.
Mahler Symphony No.7
Mahler Symphony No.5
Bruckner Symphony No.4

Well, la-di-da, Tommoboy and poor you. That's a veritable RAH programme, is not it? Some of us are still labouring with Two Little Boys.  Embarrassed

Were Tommo's symphonies complete, I wonder?

Well, the last one is obviously in anticipation of tomorrow evening at the Phil, Mary.  I see it's not sold out so I might well go if I can clear my desk on time.  In my head the hunting scherzo has, to my great satisfaction, taken the place of various lesser works mentioned here over the last couple of days.  I just hope it doesn't keep me awake!

I think I've just about managed to wash that farm right out of my head.

Is there another bit?  I thought it was just very short.  Grin

Uh oh. R3 are playing the overture to 'Pinafore'. This means that my brain will seize on G&S, not necessarily what I've just heard, and something will play on an endless loop for at least the rest of the day. It always happens with G&S Roll Eyes Last time it was the Mikado. For d-a-y-s!

I once played for The Gondoliers with some friends, and we were texting each other with fragments of the libretto, and leaving voice mail messages of bleeding chunks of melody (I seem to remember leaving a message that was the clarinet part of the entire overture) for weeks afterwards.
There should be some kind of deprogramming service.

O Dear.  I  have just been reading the tv reviews in the papers and one was a review of Rolf Harris tracing his father's war service and now I have Two Little Boys firmly entrenched again!  Embarrassed

A composer friend of mine once came up with a little ditty that has proved immensely useful for washing tunes out of one's head. Simply repeat until the offending tune has gone away. Of course you then have another little ditty in your head but this one doesn't take up much space.

Warning! Contains slightly naughty words!

I'm not sure what's better really, Adam Yee and his sheep or Anty and her little boys ...

Just clicked on that link.  Typical Welsh stereotype is it? <sigh>  It really doesn't happen.

I got rid of Two Little Boys via The Manics.   Cheesy

If Adam was thinking of any country stereotype it would have been New Zealand, Anty. Smiley He's Australian of course. And a convert to Orthodox Judaism, for what it's worth.

No, I won't post this.  But I would like to point out to Ollie that most Welsh sheep are BaaBaaBaaptist, so basically free love is not on the agenda.

I am not sure that this is a proper and correct conversation for half two of the clock on a Sunday, but I think Sardinia heads the league tables for ovine relationships.

The Welsh, well they are known as sheep shaggers but to be honest, it is only that our sheep are so totally good looking and desirable, except the Lleyns of course, they is awfully short which means at least 4 Thompson Yellow Pages Directories.

No, I won't post this.
