Just as a reminder that not everywhere is damp and grey, though we were lucky: those who stayed on for an extra week had heavy rain every day.

Thank you Ron Dough,
This picture brought needed sun and dryness. Also it brings vastness and calm into focus.

Ron,

I am led to believe that You Da Man is an appropriate phrase in this context.

Nothing like as dessicated, but still sunny. (And of course those hills in the distance will have to be traversed; a tough climb and a punishing descent.)

The hills in the distance look so bare. I feel like I have been to Cape and can imagine the area.
Thank you Ron Dough.

Cape Town's a wee bit different, t-p: you've not really had a chance to see what it's like yet. Pictures still to come....

Ron Dough,
I am patiently waiting to see Cape town. I like to see it very much.

t-p is patiently waiting for Cape Town.

We're not quite there yet, t-p: we're still on the trail.

And will we have to climb that peak ahead of us to get there? I expect so....

Ron, I do hope that our (well, certainly my) relative silence during your ongoing pix postings won't be taken for anything other than the awe-struck variety. Magnificent.  Smiley

I can see that folk are still taking a peek, mart, by the way that the viewing figures are still rising. Whilst there's still interest and I've pictures left, the thread will continue!

Please keep posting the pictures. I like to travel but not likely to do so. I enjoy these pictures very much. They keep me in positive territory and not dwelling on the negative.
The pictures are expressive and I even feel heat is coming from them.

Well, here's one you should be able to feel the heat from: fire-baths at one of the campsites. It was already well into autumn by the time we arrived, and although the days were still hot, the nights were cooler, though the fact that at least one of the party is topless and others are still in just vests suggests that it wasn't too cold that night.

Just up the road there was a winery, and some of us had treated ourselves to a bottle of the very fine local wine to have with our meal.

Seconded. There are some inspiring photographs here, Ron, and they also give a fair idea of the physical challenges involved in completing the trek. Keep 'em coming!

I like that one with socializing and food. The food was fantastic, I can tell.

The food was excellent, t-p, though there was better still to come...

The last trek picture showed another hill which I expected to be the path: this time it wasn't. Instead of going straight on, we turned left round the slope, back towards the main valley.
