though you wouldn't think it to look at me.

This I can indeed confirm!
As can I!

I love that combination! I suspect marzipan is like Marmite - you either  love it or loathe it. Love it love it love it!

Allergic to most of it, Mort - and Amaretto: I'm fine with Almonds themselves, but most processed derivatives have a nasty effect. No problems with dark chocolate, though - as long as it's very dark - at least 75%.
CHOCOLATEThanks I needed that.

Can't say I'd eat marzipan from choice. Kale is more my cup of tea at the moment(Huh)

I did a red lentil and kale curry for tea tonight. As I've posted before, kale has such a strong flavour that it isn't overwhelmed by the spices. Also it has more texture than spinach and doesn't just melt into the sauce. Two more portions are waiting to be eaten later in the week. Smiley

I love kale Andy, but find I most people find it too strong a flavour.

I like the sound of your curry though, I imagine it would be nice with a dollop of Greek yoghurt on top?  Do you use just the usual spices or anything out of the ordinary?

I use fat free yoghurt, not Greek, mixed with some finely chopped cucumber (or sometimes onion). Also I love pickles, today's curry was accompanied by Patak's Hot Lime.

Spices are pretty run of the mill: cumin, coriander, chilli, turmeric, methi, paprika, home-made garam masala (cassia/cinnamon, black cardamoms, cloves, black peppercorns, nutmeg)

I often added chopped fresh coriander but I forgot today and I think the kale might have overwhelmed it.

When in doubt, wash.

I've just bought a pot of coriander for the kitchen windowsill - the last time I had any I made a carrot, potato and coriander soup which was rather tasty. Haven't decided what to do with it this time - it'll go in soup again unless I'm otherwise inspired.

Wasn't that one of Keats's? MabelJane or The Pot of Coriander

In anxious secrecy they took it home,
And then the prize was all for MabelJane:
She calm’d its wild hair with a golden comb,
And all around each eye’s sepulchral cell
Pointed each fringed lash; the smeared loam
With tears, as chilly as a dripping well,
She drench’d away:—and still she comb’d, and kept
Sighing all day—and still she kiss’d, and wept.

Then in a silken scarf,—sweet with the dews
Of precious flowers pluck’d in Araby,
And divine liquids come with odorous ooze
Through the cold serpent pipe refreshfully,—
She wrapp’d it up; and for its tomb did choose
A garden-pot, wherein she laid it by,
And cover’d it with mould, and o’er it set
Sweet Coriander, which her tears kept ever wet.

Sound of Mort hurtling out of the house to catch the local shop before it closes.

Funnily enough, I have in my hands the very same bar of Ritter marzipan.  The mint is also good.

If there were any justice in this world I would be a size zero the amount of running around I do.  Unfortunately the mint version of the above bar of chocolate proves too enticing.  (I'd rather be dead than eat the marzipan UUUUGGGGGH).

I had porridge for breakfast, two small jacket potatoes for lunch and in between, two small slices of cherry cake.  Don't know what to have for evening meal.  Probably slimming milkshake. Roll Eyes

Well, there's two answers to that ain't there?

Either:  I wish, I wish   Cheesy

Or:

In his dreams is he going to get his hands on my Ritter  Cheesy
