There we are all, us females, wondering if we are creeping slowly up from a size 10 to a size 12 but do the Members of the Opposite Gender amongst us worry about their trouser size increasing from a 28" waist to a 34".  I rather think not  Cheesy
Actually, Antheil, yes I would! I have a funny feeling I wouldn't be the only one.

Also, has anyone heard from harmony harmony because he always came up with some good recipes.
I have. He's not been around much but I think he's got his head down with the new job and stuff. I'm sure he'd be happy to know he's been missed here, and I expect he'll be back sooner or later to say hi.

Oh, is that what he's doing? I thought he was just showing off his abs (for the benefit of Mr Grew, as it were).

I would love to shrink to a size 12...but don't want to starve down to it as when on a diet I become utterly miserable and even more irritable than normal. Eating sensibly is of course the, er, sensible thing to do but I'm not very sensible these days. Sad

I don't worry about creeping up from a 10 to a 12.  I worry about the fact that from age 18 to 25 I was on an even keel - roughly a size 12 when skinny, and roughly a size 14 when not skinny (I have never been truly skinny - I'm very curvy) and operated on an annual cycle along the lines of: gain half a stone in winter, lose it in spring, gain it in summer, lose it autumn - and then somehow broke out of the cycle and put on three stone and became a lumpy size 16.  I realised the rot needed to stop, especially as so many of my older friends have told me how much harder it becomes to shed weight and increase fitness as you age.

I would be quite happy as a 16 - I really do like my body - if I thought that my current lifestyle and habits would be likely to maintain this rather than make me fatter and less healthy.  As it is, I decided I needed to start taking better care of myself.

Size 12-14 is ideal for me.  I will never be a perfect dress size due to my shape, and the one time in my adult life when I was 9.5stone (supposedly the ideal mid-range weight for my height) was when I was 21 and having a few problems, and people were commenting that I looked gaunt.  I'm meant to be about 12 stone I think, which "on paper" is overweight for my height.  However, I'm NOT really supposed to be 13 stone plus, which is what I am at the moment though you wouldn't think it to look at me.

Being a veggie means you eat very sensibly, doesn't it? so you'll never pile on the pounds, will you? Undecided

It's not being GREEDY, it's just enjoying food isn't it?   Cheesy

As I was out and about early I did a big cupboard restock (rice, pasta, beans etc.) then later on I went to our High Class Food Emporium as I thought, due to the weather we are suffering, I deserved a few treats.

Lo and Behold - they had lots of nice things half price so I now have:  A lovely pair of very large Perfectly Ripe Hass avocados, some lime and coriander houmous and some roasted red pepper houmous, olives and a piece of roquefort to sustain me.  And, as a finishing touch, marzipan covered in dark chocolate.  Yummy

Oh be still my beating heart. I love that combination! I suspect marzipan is like Marmite - you either  love it or loathe it. Love it love it love it!

Allergic to most of it, Mort - and Amaretto: I'm fine with Almonds themselves, but most processed derivatives have a nasty effect. No problems with dark chocolate, though - as long as it's very dark - at least 75%.
