Cheer up, Anty. We shall all pray for your salvation and the Solomon-like judgement of our Quizmaster. It's to John that the flaming gates of Hell Itself beckon.  Cheesy

...Oh I could throw myself at Mr. Grew's feet and beg for mercy on the grounds of being Welsh?

Perish the thought!  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Baz, do you think some dexterity with citrus fruits could possibly win him round?

Or I could organise a Welsh uprising.  Plenty of us Welsh here on the MB look you, Mr. Barrett, Mr. Martle (half-Welsh mind you, but the best half he do assure me), Mr. Bryn do have a Welsh name and then there are, of course, the ones what have not as yet come out of the closet owing to the fact they live too close to the Bristol Channel.

OK!

Mr Grew - I demand that you give Anty the marks she has won!

Do you think that will work?

Dear Baz, I love you very dearly but I do not think The Esteemed Mr. Grew will be swayed by outpourings of passion.

We must remember Dear Sydney, (oh my goodness, what a handsome devil he is) - and I almost swoon when I think of him and his idiosyncratic spelling of Showstacowich et al, - will maintain a steely grip on the proceedings.  (Ohmigod, I may swoon again!)

I do not believe there is any way of proving that this music was not written before 2000, save consulting the composer himself. In fact, it has a certain pre-2000 feel to it, don't you think?  Wink

Indeed, I will later be getting out my Granville Bantock boxed set for a second listen!

But Anty, there are as many ways to skin a cat as there are ways to spell "Showusacock-witch!" Surely we can find the one that WORKS?

Well there are right now just a few off-topic messages at the Test Site that may distract Mr Grew from our Potter entry.

Oh, Mr Grew will read this

Anty - there is something seriously wrong with your avatar. They are all wearing the wrong colour!

Why not try this one?...

Blimey IGI I'm glad I'm not up against you for a six-pack of Tennents and a T-shirt down the local on a Wednesday night!

Well, the first of your trio sounds like Sibelius (but none I know  Huh ) the second sounds as French as an intellectual's comb-over and the third sounds, frankly, a bit like Pink Floyd.

I can see a lot more time is about to be lost to these unless Mr. Sudden gets his act together quickly...

And to IGI - the opera house being according to our rules as inadmissible as the biograph . . .

Does it?!

It sounds more like Parsifal to me ...

It is Mr Sudden's sad duty to report that all three snatches belong to the class of pieces he has never heard. Since this class comprises a substantial majority of the repertoire this is of course hardly helpful. Embarrassed

...we do by the way wonder why in the Grand Accumulated Member Points Table the bolding commences in the positive direction at the four-figure mark or at any rate somewhere between 788 and 1081 while in the negative direction it appears to commence somewhere between -644 and -880. Is there a reason we wonder?
