At the risk of further minus points Mr. Inquisitor (and it's really far too early in the morning for Puzzles) it is Max Bruch?  No. 1?

That sounds extremely Holstian to me, Baz.... The Choral Symphony. Op 41, surely?

My goodness me Sir - that was extremely quick!

Indeed you are right - it is the Chorus "Whence came ye, jolly Satyrs, whence came ye?" from Holst's First Choral Symphony (Op. 41) (so named even though it's the only one he wrote).

Well done Ron!

A) Running Log from reply 127 to reply 145:

Mr. D 200 for reply 141 (ex gratia)

I protest at this arbitrary award of a positive number of points. How is it possible to compete in a rational manner when the bedrock of rules turns out to be a quagmire?

Quite so, Mr D. It seems that Mr Grew is wilfully making a mockery of what has otherwise been an impeccably dignified and admirably fair process. I hereby award myself 1877 points, which I believe puts me in the lead, albeit temporarily.

Puzzle 21 has not been guessed correctly, which surprises me only because I've already revealed the title.

Puzzle 25 is not Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1.

Tommo

It's not Paganini's Violin Concerto No.2, either.

From the longer excerpt, I can tell that Puzzle 14 is Stravinsky's The Fairy's Kiss.
