I've no idea, but I want to know!!!

(Erm, this is my celebratory post for number 280, although I didn't really have to try very hard ...)

I feel it's time for another t-i-n snatch to go on view, but it took me so long to find a way to do them at work last month, and now I'm at home, and it turns out it's much easier for me to convert a CD track directly to an mp3 file at home, but I can't find a way to then edit it in Nero without saving it to a CD first. Never mind tinners, it will all become clear to you eventually. (I've never used Nero btw so I'm talking out of my top hat)

Is Mr. Baziron's 278 the abandoned first movement of Tchaikoffski's Seventh Symphony, later incorporated by Other Hands into what is known as his Third Piano Concerto?

Wrong thread again...

my guess for 268 is The Mystery of Time by Miroslav Kabelac.

The Member seems to have the Right Idea, insofar as that can still be said when the correct answer is nothing of Martinů's at all.

Absolutely right! The work was Czechoslovakia's much more musical answer to Ravel's Bolero.

I shall allow myself a little quiet rejoicing even though I had not heard any of the work before and indeed none of Kabelac's oeuvre apart from some electronic music, since I feel moved to investigate this piece further when the opportunity arises.

I now retire for the night and hope that my last three numbers will have been solved by nightowls or antipodeans by the morning.

It is not I fear. This is a complete work in three movments composed by somebody not of Russian stock.
