Tommo, I suppose 257 must be Schnittke's Third Violin Concerto, is that right?
Back to 273. Its composer, who was in his lifetime known mostly for his operas, conducted the premiere of one of Schoenberg's largest works.

273: Schreker it surely is, though I'll plump for the Romantische Suite.

No, it's not Carmina Burana.
274 - well is it Orff's Cartuli Carmina then? [edit - silly misspelling - I meant Catulli Carmina!]

No, it's not Carmina Burana.
274 - well is it Orff's Cartuli Carmina then? No, that's an incorrect answer, I'm afraid. Time for a second clue - Mme Antheil and Mr Iron are right to go for a German composer, but it's not Orff, and are searching within the correct time frame, the choral piece concerned being composed in between Carmina Burana and Cartuli Carmina.
