We are pleased to report that Mr Iron's snatches are now successfully downloaded and we think that No.357 is Mozart's Serenade in E flat Major, K.375: III. Adagio No.354 is not Howells, Mr Martle.

Could 354 be the Hurlstone clarinet sonata? I've not played it before (it was on my 'to do' list but I didn't ever get round to it) and I've heard a few movements in auditions recently... Didn't sound terribly Brahmsian at the time but I figure that you never know.

It's not the Hurlstone sonata either, I'm afraid.

I don't think it is, but just to get 20 points, I will suggest that 354 is Schumann's Marchenerzahlungen, Op132

No.356 sounds as if there's a Spanish influence. Could it be Boccherini's Symphony in D Minor, Op.37, G517.

You are, as I should have expected from you, entirely correct Mr Inquisitor.

I'm afraid not Sir - it doesn't sound like anything in a 'minor' key to me, it is not by an Italian, and there is nothing 'Spanish' about either (as far as I can tell). Indeed, I am wondering whether you think you might be describing no. 355 (even though the data provided would still be invalid)?

I wonder if Mr 1780's No.343 is Glazunov's 'Minstrel Song'?

Incorrect, I am afraid. (I'm fairly certain my clue was correct, but there must be many others satisfying the clue conditions too!) Mr 1780

CLUETIME! Here is Puzzle 343 in SS and RSThere has been one snatch already identified by this composer, and two snatches whose titles include this title. When I posted this clue the numbers were correct, but are now one and three respectively. That should give you the title.... And to fill the gap, here is a new Puzzle 349 in SS and RSThis has been incorrectly suggested twice. No clues allowed yet.

Is No.343 Dohnányi's Serenade, op.10?
Incorrect (but at least you are following the clues correctly ) Another clue, if I may. This composer wrote two of these, and IGI's quite close on the opus number. Mr 1780
