Is this Webern's Concerto for flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, trumpet, violin, viola and piano, opus 24?

Sorry no it is not Webern's Concerto, although it certainly sounds similar.

Ok, Stravinsky, Mouvements (for 389)?

Correct Mr. Martle! It is an interesting work often written about but not so often performed we find.

Baz - you are wrong on 388, because

Ha ha! 388 is Souvenir by Ladislav Kupkovic. How many times have I mentioned him without response?

auto is correct!

I cannot recall hearing you mention Ladislav Kupkovic before, auto.  I only know the Souvenir, but it really is fun. two recordings with Kremer - one with orchestra, one with piano and accordian (which is grand grand fromage)

Is Mr. Thompson's 361 Kreisler's Schoen Rosmarin?

Apologies, but this is incorrect

CLUETIME!

Puzzle 361: SS or RS

It was written as a tribute to the composer's birthplace.

Given the replies we have encountered so far, perhaps my second clue should be to request that you count the violins.

Hurrah, we cry! I should have known it straight away, but my confusion with Babbitt is partially forgiveable since he often cites this work as a seminal influence on his own style, and in fact tells an amusing story about how he was visiting Stravinsky in his NYC hotel room when Stravinsky emerged from the bathroom, still with shaving cream on his face, brandishing the 'row' for the work on a piece of paper. Perhaps you had to be there.

Here's one reference

There's lots of stuff which is rather nearer to its "model". I'm rather fond of the Harp Quintet in A major . . .

CLUES:

381 is by an Englishman (1938). This is the first recording I think.

382 is by a cousin of a much more famous composer; this cousin adopted the more famous cousin's last name, which didn't help him for posterity, at least until quite recently, when the manuscript from which these works stem was discovered and the composer identified. Don't worry about the title, though Baz has already received a clue thereto.

The name of 383 can be divined by listening to the rhythm of the horn and pizzicatos (1919).

Quite right (and it could not be anything else could it?).

Hurrah!

And no, indeed it couldn't! (You'll notice I felt confident enough with its identity not to bother with a question mark... Wink)
