There seem to be two major waves of the stuff at the moment: the wind is coming from the North East, so it looks as if more of us are in for a battering before long....

Cripes.
Hope that it doesn't come to that.

Poor Anty is perilously close to a river I do believe.  Has it burst its banks?  Shocked

We all got out there, I was so ashamed, I had me PJ trousers on   Sad

But my neighbour, he is away and it has gone into the house.  And we live on a hill, but it was cascading down, never seen the like.  My doormat floated off 20 foot and now it is raining again so we are asking for sandbags.

Yes Mort, I think.

The buglering rain was coming hell spent for leather down the hill and directly into front doors!  But, even wearing pj trousers and hastily donned Doc Martens we sorted it.  The road surface bubbled up under the strain.

I do not not know where my neighbour is, but the water has got into his house.

The rain was so fierce I had me headphones on to drown it out, until I heard the knocking on the door and my other neighbour who asked if I had drowned!!

Never have I seen it like this.  And the river has burst it's banks.

Wales, Eh?  Love it?

What an awful business. Down here the rain seems to be taking a rest.

Ron,

I made a joke meeting my neighbours about having my pyjama trousers on, and it was cool!

That's the Welsh for you, pyjama trousers and Doc Martens, never a raised eyebrow!  Just checked outside, all is calm.  But I don't think I will sleep easy.

It is grey, all walls are wet, everything is soaked in water.
I can not see if it is raining at this moment.
I have to put myself in some sort of mental and physical shape for our meeting today at 3 o'clock. I have to check the time and place so I am not mixed up.

I don't think we will have a rehearsal, but I should see everyone.

Best of luck with the awful rain, Anty. I saw some of what was happening in Wales on the telly news.

I was woken at 4.30 a.m by absolutely torrential rain. The noise was unbelievable. I got up and looked round to see if any of the water had got into the house, but it was all right as far as I could see, so I went back to bed. I haven't checked yet this morning, but it isn't raining much now. So far. This house has never flooded, but there's always a first time. The garage floods, but luckily I haven't got a car.

What we had last night was a flash flood due to the sheer volume of water falling and cascading down the hill.  Our houses are below the level of the road, my neighbour still doesn't appear to be home (his is the first house in the road so took the brunt of it), how much got into his I don't know and I don't have a mobile number for him.

The river has burst its banks big time, two fields are under water and the primary school is marooned (it does have flood defences though)  The road is under very deep water which means I too am marooned! And guess what - it's raining  Sad
