The local news said that the highest temperature in NW England today was 14C.

I've just had texts from both my sons. One's in Egypt, the other's in an untouristy bit of Majorca. They are warm, or in the case of the one in Egypt, rather too hot.

Bloody weather, this week is going to be a complete wash out. The forecast for today didn't look too bad last night so I was planning to risk a 30-40 minute drive in an attempt to see some cricket. But I've just looked again and it's substantially worse now, heavy showers forecast, so not worth the drive. In any case, the ground is still wet from yesterday's rain. Tomorrow's going to be even worse, up to 50mm of rain. The forecaster said there will be a taste of autumn this weekend - I thought we'd been having that for the last month Angry

I don't know where you are Andy, but the weather forecast for the weekend is horrendous I'm afraid.  Certainly in the NW we're braced for days of torrential rain and gales. It is just like November, but although it's disappointing with regard to the cricket, just spare a thought for those in New Orleans.  Doing that is the only thing that makes me feel better about the rain.  Could be much worse.

Torrential downpour this morning down my neck of the woods. Rather windy now though, light rain as well. We've had way too much rain this year!

We've been sunny all day again, and the temperature's still a respectable 16/61, but there have just been a couple of rumbles of thunder echoing noisily across the Firth, though the sun's still bright.

Confusing.

We have a Met Office warning for the South West and South Wales, a months rainfall in one day.

I went in search of Johannes the Goatherd, but to no avail.  He met this bloke called Noah in the pub last week.  Since then the sound of wood being sawn and nails hammered has echoed across the valley.

I did receive a txt from him which said "Ark"

The txt should have said "Hadron Collider"  Grin

It raineth long and hard and unrelenting forsooth egad etc.  However all may be academic come Wednesday when we are all sucked inexorably towards Switzerland before we're whooshed down the nearest wormhole into oblivion.  Grin

All together now :- "We'll all go together when we go, all suffused with an incandescent glow...."

(Except it would be dark down a black hole of course)

I'll get me brolly.
