Beautiful, perfect blue and gold morning here, but I don't trust it. Shakespeare said it, as usual.
Why didst thou promise such a beauteous day And make me travel forth without my cloak, To let base clouds o'ertake me in my way Hiding thy bravery in their rotten smoke?
Sonnet 34
Always take your cloak in Britain.

Sunny and bright here but it's obviously rained a lot in the night. The kids both said it was cold this morning, but I'm boiling! Hope I'm not coming down with something else. I think it was because I was rushing round making breakfasts, packing a lunch, getting everything the child needed for his first morning including his dinner money cheque etc., etc.,........... Off out with the dog now before it even thinks about raining!

Thank you, Mary. It's grey and drizzly here but you and Will S together prompted a welcome grin of fellowship to get the day going.

And later on the night will be unruly with chimneys where they lie blown down. In some southern coastal districts lamentings may be heard i' th' air, strange screams of death, prophesying with accents terrible of dire combustion and confused events new hatch'd to th' woeful time. Inland the earth is likely to become feverous and may shake. This should however clear from the west during the morning.

Blimey. Whence did this downpour come? I'm glad I had lunch before going to the shops.

It's chucking it down 'ere! It's gone very cold and windy too. To add insult to injury my homepage tells me that Britain is braced for September squalls. Gales and torrential rain throughout apparently. I've just put the heating on.

I've just put the heating on. It's not that cold is it Milly? I'm still wearing shorts tho I've had to put a sweatshirt on. More heavy showers earlier I had a whole week of cricket watching lined up and so far I haven't even bothered to go to a game, there seems little prospect of any play around here, it's certainly not worth travelling any distance. So I've been able to waste spend my time sorting out my new wireless router - I'm on the laptop wirelessly now.

I was warm this morning when the others were complaining of the cold, but the temperature has dropped considerably since then. The tide is right in behind the house, very choppy too and it's brought a really cold wind with it. It's not nice at all for September.

I've just looked out the back and there are lots of idiots out there on the sea in driving rain, surf boarding - pulled along by kite-thingies. Don't know what that's called but they're going very fast! The sea looks really rough too. Hmm. Now is that brave...or the other thing?

Hmm. Now is that brave...or the other thing? The other thing, I think! I can confirm that it is freezingly cold in the NW. My heating's on now, too.

Plenty of thin things so you can layer if it's cool, yet remain unsweltery should it be warmer, Oz.
