We've got high winds and an unholy downpour which look as though they're set in for the day.

Off to football practice soon, but fortunately it takes place inside.  At least I'm sheltered and can have a nice latte whilst I'm cheering on.

We have clouds gathering apace, probably for the next onslaught. They attack us more frequently these days. Ahhh, halcyon summers of yesteryear! Or is it perhaps when we were younger, we always remember those long sunny days and still had to go to bed when it was still light!!! Sad

It drizzled constantly last night but has now dried up but the wind is very COLD!!  Have to agree with BBM about childhood memories, the long sunny summers and having to go to bed when it was light but still hearing the older children playing outside.

Our long range forecast for next 5 days is rain  Sad

The BBC weather map doesn't look too bad as far as rain goes but there are lots of showers here which don't seem to appear on it. I've been listening to the cricket commentary from Edgbaston online and they've gone off there due to rain. I'm not bothering to go to the game as it's been completely killed by the rain - there's no chance of a result today - so I'll pop along to my local club at Harborne this afternoon. They are having problems as their groundsman is ill at the moment - when I was there last weekend the outfield was covered in clover Shocked If no-one's cut it, they soon won't be able to play!

Jolly windy, cold and showery here today. Just beginning to get a tad weary of the lack of warmth.

When in doubt, wash.

Wet and windy this morning but dry enough this afternoon to put bunny out in his run - in fact we had to shade him from the sun. His long lop ears were blowing about in the wind!

Decidedly overcast to the point of being misty, in the morning and late evening here, but a good stretch of warm pleasant sunshine for much of the afternoon, allowing a splendid walk on the beach and over the sand dunes. That will do nicely, thank you.

Thats the trouble with prolonged outbreaks of nasty weather. We people need some sort of break, otherwise we wont get enough sunshine, which in some cases, makes people feel depressed, unfortunately. Can we ask the weather gods for  prolonged stint of sunshine? Is that tooooooooo much to ask?

BBM,
Clearly it is!  Torrential downpour here in York as i was on my way back from work.  So much so that the car aquaplaned at one point which was truly scary.  It wasn't even a large puddle either and i wasn't going very fast.   Huh

Precious memories of York I have, Jonathan!! My son went to St Peter's and St Olaves(?) for his education. My uncle and my Grandmother used to live in The  Mount. York Minster, now there's a place. Fond memories indeed.

I've been waiting at home to see when play might start in the Warks v Essex match at Edgbaston. No play before lunch but they've been mopping up the rain that fell earlier today. However I've got the internet radio commentary on and they've just said that it's raining again - in fact I can hear the rain through their effects mike! Sad

We've a pretty decent storm brewing here on the South Coast - just been grocery-shopping down near the Hove seafront and there are some fairly Peter Grimes-like scenes: I don't know whether Hove has a storm cone but if it does it will certainly have been raised.

Sad I'd better check with the neighbours.
