Oh No!  Do not mention blue cheese!  I scoffed the lot earlier and only have in the fridge mouse-trap cheddar.

However, I haf discovered a Mars Bar.  Nom Nom Nom.  Also, I have cornichons.  Which to munch?  Will the two combine flavourwise?

When I had more time than sense
... whereas now you have more sense than time? Wink

I love courgettes, can't understand the objections to them. I haven't had a marrow for yonks but if Mary is offering to stuff one with mince then I'll be up there like a shot!

Ollie, I hadn't realised Richard Haynes had taken holy orders.

It started before the allotment even came into the equation.  Colleague was becoming envious of the delicious home-made soups I bring into work for lunch, and offered to employ me for cash to fill his freezer with the same Grin

I haven't yet taken him up on it, but may yet do so - especially once he's growing his own veg!

Anna - Mars Bar and Cornichons?  Shocked Erm... no.

Blue cheese (St Agur if I can't find anything more interesting) on oatcakes is my absolute favourite snack.  Except possibly duck pate on toast...

No tinners, I have not more sense than that I was born with.  And that is very little

My Mum used to do the marrow with mince as well, heavy on the onion and mushrooms as I recall.

It is St Agur on my plate!
Can't remember the name of the gooey cheese but it's at Tescos and being discontinued.
Now I wish I had duck pate in my fridge...

(St Agur

Oh yum. Gooey, gorgeous and full of attitude<drool>

Ants, I have some chocolate covered gingers here but, er, that's not much help really, is it? Sad

Edit. I am a twit! I was thinking of another cheese that I know Ruth is a big fan of, she swooned when I posted about it at Christmas. The stupid thing is I can never remember the name of it but always recognise the box Roll Eyes

Glad to have jogged your memory, Mort.  As you can tell, I am a bit of a cheesoholic.  In fact I get through at least one whole bottle of cheesohol every day... Wink

I'm not currently munching these, but I wish I were Sad
Has anyone tried them? I happily crunched my way through some the other week in a pub. Terrifyingly moreish, not to mention addictive.

I can never have a packet of those in the house. At least, not for more than a few hours.

A fine memory of Basel: sitting by the Rhein in the spring afternoon sunshine quaffing Feldschlösschen and scoffing wasabi nuts. Probably not the best beer in the world but it didn't seem to matter.

Wasabi Peas? NOM NOM NOM!

The decades-old, immovable and hugely frustrating blind spot in the panoply of martle munchies, as I think I mentioned to Mort in Brighton where they were kindly supplied by the pub, is these:

...any colour, any degree or not of marinading, any stuffing. How many times have I seen something as appetising-looking as this at a party,

and thought, YES! THIS time I'll like 'em! And one minute later found myself spitting them out into a napkin? Not fair!  Sad
