'Cackle' is the kind of laugh a witch-like person would make, a sort of wicked laugh t-p.

Time for a rather naughty late cup of tea.

Well the tea was just what I needed after being out in the rather unseasonal 6 degrees with which we were blessed tonight.
I know it's been colder, but it feels rather chilly after recent weather.

You're welcome to some tea A. What would you prefer? I've got Fair Trade, Japanese Green, Gunpowder, Jasmine, Chinese Green, Green with Echinacea, Echinacea, Licorice, Fennel or Chai.

John W said something about people overwriting the picture files didn't he? There's probably something about it on the the Announcements thread. I've uploaded my avatar to my bijou webspace I keep hidden away. That way I know that no-one can touch it except for me.

Anyone coming over to the chatroom (the first one, that is, the 'Chatzy' one, not version 2)?

Chatrooms don't really do it for me I'm afraid.
For now, I prefer the format of the message board.
The leisure of re-reading posts and drafting replies only to decide that there's a better way of saying what you're trying to say.
Anyway, I'm just going to do the washing up.  Grin

Today I managed to analyse a gamelan piece in order to discover its pathet - and, amazingly, I found it very easy. I feel extraordinarily proud of myself. Eleven years of performing has obviously rubbed off in a theoretical as well as a practical manner.

And on that note (possibly a high 2), I'm going to my naked bed (I just did my washing up).

Never read the whole text before... I've always been puzzled by the madrigal's meaning, so now's my chance to resolve it.

So, with a pint of squash, a packet of crisps and today's Guardian crossword, I bid you adieu.

I'm off to bed too. Been at a contemporary concert this evening which I planned and organised - but there was a disappointingly (but not surprisingly) small audience. Some times wonder why I bother.

Andy

Perhaps it was what Tom Crowe used to describe as 'a small but enthusiastic audience' Smiley  It's a phrase that often comes to mind at some of the concerts I go to. It means it was still well worth doing.

Crisps in bed! Roll Eyes  Can be disastrous. Nothing worse for a good night's sleep than rolling about on little shards of the old ready-salted. This must stop. It was the first thing they taught us at finishing school.

Perhaps it is h-h's lenten penance? One should never underestimate the ingenuity of a religious fanatic! (or gamelan performer)

Andy - what music was in the concert?

Crisps in bed is one of my vices I'm afraid. I tend not to move about a lot while I sleep so the shards are not really a problem.
Even better - crisp sandwich (but I'd run out of bread).
