Great to see Pixie exploring the big outdoors. She looks so cuddly but has such a serious expression on her face!

Indeed, Mary. She's a real beauty, Andy. Looks as though she is pretty much mistress of her territory now and she knows it! I think she chose very well!

Apart from the eyes, and being a bit slimmer she looks so much like my puss Juliet. Who is in disgrace for a bit after ignoring my screams and peeing on my recorder case! The disparaging looks during practice, I will tolerate. The occasional swipe at the bell, I can stand. But there are limits!

Say hello to Poppy! No, she's not mine. I've never had a cat (and never will) but she's obviously decided I'm a sucker for animals. Whilst working at the computer on Tuesday morning, with the patio door wide open, I heard a mewing, looked up and saw her peering in. After saying 'hello' (me, not the cat!) she decided I must be alright so strolled in and took a look around. She seemed quite content to curl up on the doormat, soaking in the sunshine, so I let her, until I left for London. I didn't think any more of it, but today, she's back! She's discovered that the cushion on the dining room chair makes for a comfy perch, although she's also discovered that it's a collapsible one! She doesn't appear to want any food. She seems well cared for, has a collar with her name on. I think she just wants a bit of a fuss. At the moment, she's sunning herself on the grass. Funny thing.

I would quite like to be adopted by someone else's cat. No responsibility.

IGI, you have been rumbled by a far superior being than yourself! She's found somewhere jolly comfortable and welcoming with a nice cushion. How can you say 'No'? Have her 'owners' gone away on holiday or perhaps she's just checking out friendly houses? Poppy is a fine looking cat though, lovely long hair, she reminds me of one of my late lamented beasts Enjoy your visitor!

IGI, this is how it all starts. Indeed. We were adopted by a neighbour's cat years ago - we knew the owners and they knew exactly where Charlie normally was. Then they moved house. It took about 12 hours of opening the back door to no Charlie to decide we'd just have to get one of our own, despite the fact that I'm quite substantially allergic. Beautiful photos everyone - lovely to see Pixie out exploring - what a dignified face! and Poppy is gorgeous too. We had a traumatic weekend - J had been in a fight the weekend before and I'd been checking him all week. On Saturday I found a lump on his side. Stressed all weekend about it and took him to the vet on Monday - she said it was healing, although there had been an abcess there. Unfortunately for him, I got him tested for diseases etc (he hasn't had his jabs as FIV etc aren't rife in the area, but there's been a one-eared bruiser hanging about) so he's not impressed with the hilarious shaved patch on his leg and he was even less inpressed when the needle went in, but thankfully he's all clear. Unbeknown to him, he's going in for his first set of jabs on Monday. Not going through that stress again...

Cheers - it's getting him in the basket I'm worried about - he grows extra legs. He might grow a few more after last time.
