Baz,

One of the biggest complaints that I`ve heard about parakeets is that they are noisy little beggers and some people have suggested culling them. That could account for the graveyard preference. No complaints from the neighbours there!

I`ve seen a few `flights` of them in Hampstead, but I suspect the Canadian Geese tell them where to get off Sad

Mort,

The real problem with them (apart from their cacophonous noise) is the danger they present to native indiginous birds like the woodpecker. The parakeets steal the holes they make for nesting purposes. They also pose a potential threat to farmers (if the population continues to explode). It is also illegal under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 for anybody to release them into the wild - so they are all automatically "illegal" (but here the law seems to have become a real ass!). More info at (inter alia)

Good morning everybody. It is a lovely morning.
I watered my plants and played piano I tried to do good for the evironment. We have birds like crows, but smaller. They make a lot of noise when I pass by. I think they have a nest.

It is a gloomy windy morning and I just noticed that the slugs have slaughtered my hollyhock seedlings, and the spring onions and carrots. But the first strawberry has ripened so that qualifies for the Happy Room.

May be yous slugs will like to drink bear. I have seen people giving them bear.
I have wild strawberries and they were nice, but just only few of them.

We don't want slugs in our happy room. May be they will like to drink beer and go on their way.

Crows are interesting birds. They are not that pretty, but they are smart. There are many species of them, but perhaps they don't belong here.

Sorry, but I see no reason to ban slugs from the happy room.
Any living creature pleases me and makes me happy... slugs, spiders,snails,worms.... you name it.

Just think , we could have been born slugs and then no-one would have loved US either.
