Yesyes, but what is it's function?

Wink

Hmm.  What're you planning on doing with the sines?
Function? Whatyewonabout? Oi! This is the Happy Room not the Funny Ha Ha Room!
Sines are going to be holding some quartertone chords (a bit like a sho) at the start (the bit I've written) but later on there's going to be lots of glissandos going on. Sine tones are greatly underrated.

recorder, trombone, guitar, violin, double bass, sine tones
Look familiar?  Cheesy
It's possibly going to go in my Ezra Pound thing one day in the future.
Ah, if only I was young enough... Grin

Oh! I, for one, very much approve for the use of sine waves for microtonal music (on acoustic grounds).

Verily! Sorabji had this big fantasy that the ideal piano would have a mechanism that would involve hammers hitting tuning-forks.  I don't agree with him that that would be ideal exactly for most purposes, but it would be *something* indeed.

After things went so well, I can't quite find my way into the next section of the piece...
OK, I have a plan and it seems to be working. Not really sure how I'm going to notate it yet, but I don't think that matters right now.

How fortuitous!

(of course, sorabji envisioned that it would be an extremely large instrument, but anyway).

OH I must buy a set of tuning forks.  I happen to have some bank balance left over, so.

EDIT: WOW that impulse died pretty quickly.

Bump.

Not much gets posted in here very often compared to Grumps etc., so HOORAY!  Milly has her car back!  It went yesterday for a service and had to stay overnight because it needed parts that had to be ordered.  Just been and collected it at 9 p.m.  Grin

You just don't realise how much you use the thing till you don't have it.  I've walked miles today - which can only be good of course...except that I walk miles every day anyway so this was just a lot extra.

Anyway over to the Grumpy thread....

Glad to read that Milly!   Smiley  I don't walk anything like enough, though at least teaching's better than sitting in an office.

 Cool SUNNY TODAY!!!  Cool

Grey as the inside of an unwashed milkbottle here, mj. Not wet yet, but it's only a matter of time... Thank goodness for the Proms Brass Day!

Have a nice afternoon everyone.  We're off to watch Harry Potter then have tea in a children's awful, noisy, loud and fun-filled play area. I've got some aspirins in my bag.... Wink
