...in a children's awful, noisy, loud and fun-filled play area...
Phew, Mills: for a moment I read 'arena' for 'area' and thought you were booking for the Last night of the Proms...

I dunno about you, Tonybob, but from where I'm sitting it looks as though Wol has gone back to the Hundred Acre Wood.
Oi! Ron mate! Where's yer bird?

Has there been some sort of avatar crisis involving missing critters?

Fear not, Kitty: from where I sit, bubo bubo is still happily located in his avatariac location, so his absence must have been purely temporary...

Um, isn't this little critter-crisis a rather touching misunderstanding of tonyb's obviously ecstatic reation to his having been relieved of labrador pup duty?

All familiar avatars seem to be reassuringly present and correct on my screen: Mary's rose, Ron's bubo bubo, Milly's dog, KittyB's kitty, MabelJ's kitty, tonybob's harmonious squidgel, Mort's Mort, Martle's, er, martle.
All's well. All''s well.

Well how did that happen?
I got up later than planned, having grabbed another 30 mins snooze after my alarm went off, AND YET
All my travel connections worked, so I arrived in central London 75 minutes before my appointment AND
I have no work that can be done in this spare hour or so, AND
I managed to find a shop that sells bacon butties, so I am having a nice bubble in Lincoln's Inn Fields AND
It's a gloriously sunny day!
Thank you, whoever you are....
Tommo

Just come back from a nice evening out at a Spanish restaurant eating delicious food and drinking Sangrio. Goodnight all. MJ

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Er, I don't suppose many of you all would be terribly sympathetic if I were to point out how glad I am that we're finally getting some rain around here...

On the contrary, highly sympathetic, Evan.
It's high time somebody else got some, though I wish we could divert it to south-east Europe, where they're having terrible drought problems.

O happy day! It is a fabulous morning (at last), there were no queues at the bank, the bus came as soon as I got to the bus stop AND I have bought some orgasmically gorgeous strawberries. Oh, and my neighbour who listened to me muttering and moaning the other day about my slug devastation has just popped round with a tub of slug nemesis (hedgehog friendly) and wouldn`t take any money for it - `My treat`. Bless `im. It`s the little thing, isn`t it?
