"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

And I haven't got my latest walking staff on the store page yet.

Hooray (I never know how to spell that) - anyway, hurrah, it's September, my favourite month. Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, and all that.

Harvest festivals and such-like - nights drawing in.  Very nice, although  I prefer ice-cold winter myself especially when we're all snug and warm indoors and it's dark at 4 p.m.  Cheesy

School starts again on Monday.  Sad  I shall miss him during the day.  We've had a brilliant eight weeks and it's gone so quickly!   He's just gone to a birthday party so I'm going to dash out to the shops. Smiley

I've been away from work for a week, and despite the horrendous troubles that I have with my mad soon-to-be-ex-husband, and the troubles my lovely man has with his kids, who are trying to get their hands on his money (before I do!)....despite all that we had a really wonderful week.

We were like a couple of fugitives, roaming around Cornwall in the campervan, sleeping in car parks & visiting friends, looking around the shops in St. Ives, cycling to Padstow, occasionally popping home to call the Solicitors, eating lovely fish lunches, walking on Bodmin moor, staring at sunsets off the North coast etc. etc.....what a week!

We added a nice little Buddha statuette to the decor of the van, we call her "Karma Susan" she reclines on the windowsill.

Happy me....now back at work - only 8 more weeks until retirement !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MUST get a computer installed at home soon.

A wee while ago Ollie asked how much difference the quality of camera made to photos, and whether you needed a really expensive camera to get the best results. It's been gorgeous here today, so in between other tasks I toddled up to the scene of a previous picture with two cameras - one was the Canon compact that I took to South Africa (and the RAH), the other a rather larger digital Canon SLR, which with its lens cost about twice as much. Clouds were scudding about, and the viewpoint's not the same, but each of the pictures posted here were taken with a different camera. So: which comes from the little camera, and which from the more expensive semi-pro?
Let's call this one A:

and this one, B.

OK, I'll have a go and get egg on my face first! I'd say that B is the more expensive camera - it's close, but I detect a degree more 'sharpness' - if that's the word - in the second photo and can pick out more details in the landscape, although I wonder if the cloud causing the shadow edging across the fields to the left in A is affecting my judgment there. What a beautiful landscape, Ron; I can see how it inspires you to return with the camera(s) often!

Thirded. More distant detail in B but better colour in A - which I prefer . . .

So, interestingly, even before I reveal the results, what you're telling me is that even if the second picture is the from the more expensive camera, you prefer the top one, if I understand correctly?

No, I think I prefer the richer, sharper colours in B, (but wouldn't mind an appearance from a lone cloud to cause a bit of a shadow, as in A!!!! Wink)

I think I prefer the colours in A (but it might simply be the light) but the crops at the front of B are more detailed.
