Mary, I've got Mark Padmore's phone number
Shhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Ooohhh! And how did you manage that? (You don't have to answer that.) Never mind, I did stand by him once, so I suppose that will have to do.

Awww, I can't see your sky, Ron.  I will have to wait until I'm at home this evening and don't have photo hosting sites blocked.

This is just down the road, less than quarter of an hour earlier - one of those little floods of autumn light breaking through the lowering sky.

Ron, the colours and clarity in that last one are amazing. Which of your cameras did you use?

I went out with the big SLR yesterday, Mort, and the little waterproof one. One advantage of a car is that you can sit in the pouring rain with the window open and snap away without fear of risking the camera, so in the end it was the SLR that took them all. Now that I've found that place I'll be going back at regular intervals to capture the changing of the seasons. It's so cold today that I reckon we'll have snow-tops before the month's out, yet only a couple of weeks ago it was shirt and shorts up in the glens, even though the leaves were starting to turn.

(And if you ever wondered why they sing about the "bonnie purple heather", here's why: one from the glens expedition mentioned above, from which I never got round to posting anything....)

Getting a bit nippy even down here in the smoke.  The trousers will be out very shortly for the morning cycle to work.  Apart from the cold, it was otherwise one of the morning that almost makes me see the attraction of an early morning row on the Thames - I think I'll still stick to just cycling beside it however.

I'm happy because I found out that one a few years older than me with whom I attended school is now doing an MMus (or some such) at RCM. So I nipped in and secured myself an accompanying position!  Grin
