Congrats, Aaron. Now I'm starting to think of a list of 'things you should know before relocating to Yorkshire'.... Wink

Not the big camera: I was driving back from sorting out a computer problem for someone else when the rainbow appeared: knowing how quickly they can fade I stopped in a lane as soon as possible and took a few shots. Then, as an afterthought,  I opened up the zoom as much as possible and went in close on the pylons, in the hope it might just work....

Anyone remember some futuristic TV programme from the 1970s, in which electricity pylons were feared above all else? What was it called?

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

 # 2362         Thanks, Ron.      Once again you've led the way to a most striking cover to complement the slimline jewel cases for DVD.     I've been looking for artwork which would subjectively represent Fritz Lang's 1941 western about cable laying, "Western Union" (1941) and modern pylons will add a surreal touch to the cover.    I thought that I would have to compromise with a still from the film but you've moseyed, side-saddle, to the rescue.  Thanks.        Smiley Smiley Smiley

Stanley,

It's my pleasure, as always. Am I right in assuming that you're still on dial-up for your internet? If not, I'll send you a higher res. version. A solsticial conjunction will be on its way shortly, as soon as we've broken the back of Dode's garden!

Warmest wishes,

Ron

Oo, super, Ron.       I've also got MT's "Triple Concerto" on MD record, so it's a very Happy Room tonight.

I've just commented on it at the other place, Stanley: apart from fizzling out a tad at the end, it's a splendid performance, which I should also have on video somewhere; the balance just so much better than the cladgy distorted perspective we were served up from the Proms this year. Still the Ritual Dances and The Rose Lake première to come this week, too.
