Welcome back, Mary! I know exactly what you mean. No `phone access is infuriating but bearable, if you have a mobile `phone. But when the internet disappears it does leave you feeling rather cut off. It`s rather frightening how quickly we seem to have absorbed it into our lives. A oomputer is now as much a part of household goods and chattels as the kettle

I'm happy because I never knew an oomputer was a kind of chattel until just now! I'm also happy because my dad phoned me to tell me Judith Weir was being interviewed on the radio, and I turned on just in time to hear silly Tom Service asked about her interest in 'folk music and folk tales such as Scottish ones and ancient Chinese wisdom', or something like that, to which Judith Weir said in that very unassuming deadpan way she has: 'There were a lot of words in your question which don't quite mean the same thing as each other.' (Well it made me smile anyway ...) Morning Mort. Morning Mary. Morning all.

The one thing BT did right was diverting my incoming calls to my mobile. That worked. I suppose they did mend my landline, too, but then they broke it in the first place.

Ho Mort etc,
Back from a lovely QUIET few days. Really good, a converted dairy was the place, no cows inside though.

Ho! Many thanks, friends, for your "greetings" and "hellos". The involved family business that has kept me occupied for so long has now been completed. You must, therefore, be prepared for some idiocies and low quality intellectual postings from me. Interestingly, MorticiaaaAAA^'s picture strongly resembles a neighbour of mine. However, I am "moo"ved to say that no "neigh" can really be involved here in this particular likeness. I think I'll stroll out and look into the field opposite - just to check, you understand. Cheers

I hope he did finish moping his floor. Or should I have said mopping? I found out just now there is a noun mop too. I am happy because whatever I have said made martle laugh. Now my singer with Saint Saens Mon cour s'ouvre a ta voix and Gluck's J'al perdu mon eurydice is going to come at 5. Lets hope it goes well and I don't fall asleep. It is not that I am unhappy, I just can not wake up. See you all later.
