Thanks t-p I've just found it. How I love those Brahms and Schumann piano quintets. Must add them to my ever expanding Desert island Discs list over on the Mornington Crescent board...

How is your daughter, MaberJane? Is she still singing? Are you singing yourself?

Just posted to you on the Waffle thread t-p!
Little R's not been well lately, mystery tummy aches, but she's felt better today, thanks for asking. She'll be singing again once she feels up to it. No sure what she'll learn next now the festival's over. Any ideas from other posters? She's ten and sings very naturally with a small light high voice. I haven't sung for ages. And teaching every day isn't good for the voice. I try not to shout but am constantly speaking and have those little kids coughing and sneezing their germs all over me every day. They're generous with their head lice too!!! Going down with a sore throat at the moment and my head's beginning to itch a bit... Wink
Do you sing at all t-p?

Is that a lira da braccio, or something like that, perhaps?

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY
 Grin   Grin   Grin

Washing up, listening to Bill Evans, just about to start on the ironing and then the packing.

Finished work on the final version of my piano piece today and started writing a new trio for bass clarinet and strings, tentatively titled 'UP', which will be notated in the altissimo register in eighthtones

Dancing round the kitchen drying up.

I am happy because I am going to sleep. I thought you were in Birmingham already. I hope to hear your piano piece one day. All the best if you don't hear from me before you leave.

Good for you hh (re finishing yr piano piece), I'm also listening to Bill Evans. At least the jazz fans still have their message board. I do wonder why the Beeb left that alone and removed all the others. Can they really have been so scared of King Kennytone?

Here's something that's making me laugh out loud:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9tb05DMlqg&mode=related&search=

Dudley Moore's Schubert pastiche...brilliant!
I'd been looking for recordings of Dudley M's spoofs of composers all evening - I should have asked in this Coffee Bar straightaway!
His Beethoven and Britten are there too. Marvellous!  Grin

OK
Washing up and ironing done (also caught up with last week's Masterchef).
Time to throw some things in a bag and set my alarm for tomorrow.
Too tired to be properly happy but it does feel like (for the most part), today was a good day.
I have a little teeny rant to pop off before bed.

Why we still have it is a mystery to me, but i suspect that the host and production staff had something to do with it. I expect that the Jazz Line Up team would like it gone right now! They have been getting som e very heavy stick in addition to the usual ribald satire and cynical situationism that is part of the house style.

The Bill Evans was a rather selective view and I will post some suggestions tomorrow about what might have been mentioned. The Conversations album with triple tracks has always amazed me, he keeps it so together with such basic technology.

Everyone should love king kennytone, he is a genius and not in the least intimidating. If you have an encyclopedic grasp and amazing powers of recall and can outstare a hungry lion he is a kitten!

Well, having been fed up last evening, I'm much better now!
I've just listened to Earl Wild playing Scharwenka's 1st piano concerto - excellent stuff!

Good to know that you are happy, Jonathan. There is Gounod opera on radio now. I listened a little.
Who else is happy?
