Our cat is ok.  He went in for a tooth extraction yesterday and had a heart attack on the table.  They got him back and he is now home and, although tired, seems ok.
Thank God.
Cuddles to your cat, Jonathan.

Years ago one of my cats, Daisy, had an anaesthetic for a tooth extraction and reacted so badly to the anaesthetic she stayed unconscious for a couple of days. She gradually came round but suffered a fit, and was very wobbly for a few weeks but eventually made a full recovery. Cats are such a worry but I wouldn't be without them.

We had a really good class trip to the Hat Museum this morning. Smiley I was very worried about it as many of the children are on the SEN register for behaviour but they were well-behaved and it all went brilliantly well! The sun shone for us as we walked to the museum - a 40 min walk which they enjoyed, especially going past the frozen reservoirs where the geese were skating on the ice! The 2 guides in the museum were excellent and in the 2 hours we were there the children made their own felt from sheep's wool, saw lots of noisy, working machinery on the factory floor and learned how the hats were made, learned a lot of local history (there were about 11 hat factories in Stockport), went in the replica hatters' cottage,  saw interesting exhibits and all sat inside a big, beautiful yurt. Oh, and we managed to give them a break for a drink and a biscuit too! Then we caught 2 (different route) buses (as we wouldn't have all fitted in just one) but arrived back at school at exactly the same time!

Such a feeling of relief that it all went well! It involved 4 Risk Assessments! Shocked Plus countless calls to the bus companies by my wonderful TA who's worth her weight in Green&Black's dark chocolate - a couple more bars for her tomorrow. She also led us down the maze of side roads to get there - I'd've got lost!

The ties that bind

Well done Jan!! Congrats!! I know the situation youve experienced. Ive been through divorce and my second marriage to my lovely wife was like something out of a soap opera, say 'Eastenders'!!

On a  different note, I have found a website that is a real brass banders heaven. You guys could look it up to, called tmouthpiece.com or www.themouthpiece.com. You be able to see what we banders get up on and off the stage!!

Hello Jan!  I hadn't seen your post until just now.  That's terrific news for you and your (current lovely) man.  Well done for getting through the cr@p and coming out the other side!

I am happy too today.  Tonight is the opening night of Salome at the ROH, by my favourite director, David McVicar.  Also it is payday, which is always good!

Must be a huge relief for you Jan to be able to relax and enjoy yourself now. Separation and divorce can be such a traumatic time, although fortunately not in my case.

It would be lovely to be able to rent a cottage, somewhere, like Cornwall but I find the prices are pretty steep.
