I'm working from home today...blissful.  There's beautiful, warm sunshine here and I listened to some of JEG's Bach Cantatas over breakfast and the Respighi Belkis, Queen of Sheba and Pines of Rome, the Pines' nightingale being joined by several goldfinches twittering in the lilac tree in the garden next door! I anticipate a CD delivery later as well...  Smiley

I'm working from home too .... having just got back from a couple of days away on business.  It's glorious here as well; I'm clearing far more paperwork than I would in the office - and then I'll be carting teenage daughter off to rehearsals for a Brighton Youth Orchestra gig tonight - including, as it happens, The Pines of Rome (and the Vaughan Williams Tuba Concerto, first of two performances in three days).  Grin

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Very much looking forward to finally meeting you on Sunday, PW! Smiley

I am happy because:

It's Friday, so no work for 2 days

I am about to cook a stonkingly good spaghetti

I will be watching Rugby tomorrow and Sunday (whether I will still be happy at 3.00pm remains to be seen of course)

Mort has sorted out her computer problems (for the time being at least)

I think I now have 1,000 points in the Test Thread (only another 25,000 to go.)  But I probably don't.  However, I happy to place myself in the capable hands of Uncle Sydney who is an Ace at Mathematics.

Martle's cold has not got worse

So all is right in the World.  Contented sigh emoticom.  Simple pleasures eh?

I am happy because

My cold has not got worse
I am about to cook a stonkingly good chorizo and chickpea stew, courtesy of Nige (that's Slater, not Mumbai)
I have a nice weekend ahead, involving the visitation of certain lovely people not a million cyber miles away from here

And no rugby.

I am happy because

My e mail is now up and running ( :-*for 'testing' it, dearie)
I have some Nige gammon to finish off tonight. Yum.
I am warm and toasty all wrapped up in my PJs. Bliss.
And ... the weekend beckons, complete with green carnations! Cheesy

Edit. That chickpea and chorizo is stonkingly good, Mart. Enjoy! Probably even better than Onion Soup for cold nasties Smiley

Therefore, reading the last three posts, and applying Feminine Logic we find:

Three of us agree Nigel Slater is a Post-Modernist God Amongst all Men When it Comes to Cooking.

Two of us is Sluts of the Highest Order who Lounge Around Wantonly in our PJs whenever The Opportunity Permits.

One of us is a Rugby Fanatic who is not going to Brighton  Cry

Make that three of us - I have also just slipped into something a little more comfortable!

I am happy because it is weekend and we don't have to get up early for the school run and we can just please ourselves for two whole days!  Grin

Make that four!

I am happy because

There are still chocolates in the house left over from Mothering Sunday

And flowers

I had a nice lunch with a good friend today

She didn't eat too many of my chocolates

I slept well last night

I have discovered I am not alone in thinking ordinary clothes are slightly uncomfortable.

Here's a proper picture:

As you can see, it's only three of us. I'm not on it.
