So am I Mary!  Smiley  It's so distressing when there is disharmony in the family,  I tend to go for peace at all costs.  Very difficult sometimes but worth the effort in the long run.  Roll Eyes

Happy, with bit of sad.

Our expectant daughter moved out yesterday, moved into a new house with footballer (not loaded) partner. We're happy for them, moving to new stage of their life. Bit sad last night going to bed, walking past her bedroom, door ajar, almost empty room, bed stripped, just a few little reminders of who slept in there for the last 16 years.

She's a big girl now (25).

This morning, another reminder she's gone, driving back from the shop I realised I can now park in a convenient prime spot on the drive  Smiley (for years I've had to park outside neighbours' houses).

Hey, they are only 10 miles away, west of Coventry, a good excuse to go eat out in posh villages over there like Berkswell, Knowle and Balsall Common, rub shoulders with the much much wealthier Birmingham City footballers  Cheesy

I can't get hold of my piano tuner - think she must be on holiday.  We'll just have to persevere till she returns. <wincing-hand-over-ears-emoticon>

Played the piano really, really well this morning - don't know why.  You know sometimes things just go perfectly for no apparent reason?  That's what happened.  So I played:  Liszt - Ave Maria and Benediction de dieu dans la solitude, Cantique d'Amour (all from Harmonies poetiques et religieuses), the 1st Consolation and lastly the 2nd St.Francis Legend.
And then I painted the wood shed again, the bits I couldn't finish yesterday as it was still full of wood!

I am happy today, basically because what a result of the BBCYM of the year Competition!! A brass bander to boot!! What a great trombonist he is. Peter Moore, only 12 years old/ Last time a bras player won this event was in 1979, when a 17 year old called michael Hext, another trombone player won it!!  Lovely, great!!

I'm proudly in the Happy Room this evening! It's the first day of KS2 SATs, which might not sound like a cause for celebration, but we've worked really hard revising for the past half-term and the children are ready to show the world what they can do. Science today, and there was nothing scary there at all...one of my perennial strugglers to whom I read questions, as she's not a strong reader, did very well indeed and they came out of it feeling really positive. Writing tests + spelling tomorrow, so I could well be moving to the Grumpy Room instead, we'll see.

Also the first day in my role as Acting Deputy Headteacher, which seemed to pass uneventfully until the Head got trapped in the library and I had to rescue him!!  Cheesy

Well done IGI. My wife also mentioned today was first day of SATs. She found it hard because she was reading out science questions to the 'strugglers'  Smiley
