As of a week Friday, I am full time!
And I've just had my first performance outside of the UK!

Thanks, martle! I'll probably be in school for the next few days, tidying up and cracking on with paperwork for the new term - I like to get as much done by the end of July as possible, more so this year as I'm also hoping to move house during the holidays.

And congrats to hh, too.  Smiley

I'm still teaching! The kids break up tomorrow then I have an Inset day on Friday for handing on/discussing IEPs, IBPs etc with their next teacher (in my case only half the class) and sorting out paperwork, cupboards full of junk, classroom organisation etc. Which is good as I don't normally work Fridays so I'll be paid extra for that Smiley - though I'm sure I'll have to go in a few times in the holidays. (And I'm hoping to move house too IGI - best of luck with your move.)

We normally have an INSET to cover that too, but not this year. We transferred information, books, IEPs etc in our own time after school, but it's been fairly hectic as six out of eight teachers are moving classrooms, which has been chaotic.

Leavers' assembly today was great fun and ended with Year 6 singing 'So long, farewell' with adapted lyrics, which did make several of the parents cry as their little ones danced out of the hall, leaving the stage bare!  Cry  A lively bunch, but good fun. Half a dozen of the boys had a black limo waiting for them at hometime, ready to take them out to Pizza Express - OTT in the extreme, but they revelled in it. Plenty of bottles of wine for yours truly, (including a tempting Pouilly fusé) plus chocs, cakes etc.  They know their teacher well! Wink

Best of luck with your move too, MJ.

Ah, the perks!  Cool Glad to hear you get them in your line of the business, IGI. I must say I've been very fortunate in that regard, especially from foreign postgrad students who seem to feel that rewarding one's teacher is obligatory. I've had countless bottles of extremely fine Greek brandy from a Greek doctoral student; and I have a Japanese student who hunts down my favourite red bean paste sweets every time she goes home. Oh yes.  Cool  Smiley Smiley

Very good, martle! I've just enjoyed a slice of homemade 'chocolate, prune and pecan torte' (a vacherin, I believe, is the usual title). It's only when I unwrapped it just now that I found a note to the effect that there was a pot of double cream in the staffroom fridge, should I wish to share it. Tragic, really!!!

Well not much NOM has occurred over in Darmstadt over the last fortnight. Pickled vegetables have never been my favourite.
