Thank you Stenley Stewart.
I will have to climb to the hights of performance level on a baby grand Steinhofer. My friend tried to fix sqeeky pedal today. They are going to tune it tomorrow
I am learning from all of you here how to concentrate on positive, how to see good in everything and how to be more an more humble, how not to be upset if people don't understand things the way I see them. It is good to have a mixture here of top professionals and music lovers.

...I wish I was a better pianist.
...May be there is a place for every one in the world, and for such an imperfect creatures like myself.
I wish I was a better pianist. I think the piano does too. Long periods of neglect alternating with my desperate "peek-and-peck" technique. But my grandson has an amazing talent! only four years old but he has always treated the instrument with respect, and a few days ago was improvising something that sounded like a very young J.S.B. to my complete amazement!

One of my favourite quotes thanks to Charles Rennie Mackintosh; "There is hope in honest error. There is none in the icy perfection of the mere stylist."

I used to wish I could play the piano well, but without a natural gift I can just imagine how much practice I would have to put in every week.

I still tinkle the Casio keyboard occasionally but have not advanced much in fifteen years. The peak of my achievement is a never perfect 'Scarborough Fair' and in a 'classical pops' book I can just about manage a half-decent 'Blue Danube' and Dvorak's 'Hovis Largo' Cheesy

This year I've tried the violin, but when I lay off it for a while it actually hurts to hold/play the darn thing again!

I do NOT have flexible wrists. The trainer in our gym examined me and she said to me 'NEVER attempt a hand-stand, your wrists will break'.

The concert went well and we are pleased (the violinst and myself are pleased). We had good audience. The youngsters were on their best behaviour.

Dear Kitty, you have such amazing grandson. He probably has good ears.

John, My violinist told me that for the first fifteen years he sounded awful. That takes a lot of perseverance to keep playing even if it sounds bad. It takes a long time to learn an instrument.
Many people prefer to sing in a chorus, but I for some reason don't like to sing.

I'm very glad to hear this too, t-p: it will give you something recent and positive to look back on when things don't seem so bright.

I am in happy room because I am beginning to understand that our lives are not accidents. The problem is that you only see what you did wrong in hindsight. I know that many people will agree that live's lessons are very painful and I have my scars like everybody else. But like water washes away and disolves dirt life too makes us better: less selfish, more humble, more understanding and less angry (hopefully).
Thank you all for your kindness, it means a lot to me.

As far as this concert although it was not the most memorable concert one will attend in one's life, I hope it will inspire some people to keep learning, to keep playing.  Kiss Kiss Kiss

So happy to read this, tp. Smiley

It could have made a memorable impression on many in that audience, especially if they are not used to concert-going. Those youngsters will remember this concert and it could well encourage them to attend future concerts performed by different musicians. Well done tp. Kiss

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.
