student stuff is often great value, i am going to more student concerts and such like, i think they practice more, so it is more refined

An opinion obviously derived from an intimate comparison....

With most ROH shows you will find that it makes very little difference what day of the week you go.  Popular shows sell out every performance; less popular shows have roughly the same percentage of seats sold regardless of the night you go.

It's always worth walking in to the box office and seeing what you can get.  And for ENO, it's often worth trying the half price ticket booth in Leicester Square (or in fact, given where you're located now, the other one on the DLR platform at Canary Wharf).

They should you these climbers going up some mountain, and it was the same measurement of Canary Warf!!

Today a man in a hairdresser shop told me that three weeks ago he heard some modern piece in Proms. It was mostly for piano brass and drums (and orchestra). He said it was such an interesting piece with jazz influence. He thought that composer was Welsh.
This man likes to compose and record. He can not write his music down. He is from Scotland and I know for him about two years.

Does anybody knows what piece he is talking about? He was raving about it.

Thank you Ron Dough. This is the concert because the young man said there was Gershwin there too.
I am sorry I have missed it, but I wish I could  to the composer that people like his music.

I had such a good day, just finished playing Dvorak's Slavonic Dances with a student. We were sight reading.
He brought Alkan's # 5. He has learnt it by himself. Also he played Bach Gavotte from French Suite in G and we looked at the rest in the same suite.

There was time for contemporary pieces.
Before that I went to a lunch time concert with the violinist. Micheal O'Suilleabhain was playing.   Micheal O'Suilleabhain  makes piano sound like Irish instrument. People still thought that the piano is not suited for this sort of things. The piano was half a tone low, I could not understand what was wrong until I tried it. It is Kawai. The room is good for chamber music. Everybody had a good time.
