Now I understand. Tuba is bass in the band. But I saw bigger instruments in brass band.

They lok like Sousaphones to me. /they were invented by the /american composer march king, John philip Sousa, whose output included famous marches like Semper Fidelis and Thne Stars and Stripes.

I know Sousa's marches. I played them for ballet classes. They are good marches.

Similar in shape to the one I play. Mort's picture is more to my one. Continental tubas seem to look differnet, maybe becausethey have similar actions to the french horn as opposed to the British tuba.

I like the sound of tuba. It must be very difficult to blow hard into the mouth piece.
Have you ever played in philarmonic orchestra?

Its all to do with the embochure. How you breathe and play, etc. Never played in an orchestra. Imagine all those bars ress!!
