I think t-p's picture is forsythia. I have that in the garden, also the "yellow bobble tree", I suspect - can't remember what it's called. Is it kerria?

Mort - funny how shopping cheers one up!

t-p - I'm glad you are happier than you were. What a gorgeous pussy-cat - socks too!

Nothing quite like a little retail therapy to lighten the spirits, eh, Mort?

Nothing beats cashmere when it comes to socks, my dear.

Mary, t-p`s photograph certainly looks like forsythia. It`s always one of the first to wake up. The one in the next door garden is flaunting itself in a most uninhibited fashion!. Is the `yellow bobble tree` a Coreopsis? They`re awake and performing at the moment as well.  They give a wonderful display.

t-p, I must think about buying more flamboyant socks, that way I wouldn`t forget to buy them Smiley

I don't think Mary you are right with our bush here. Your is even better looking and has little flowers like roses. We have this, but I don't know what it is called.

I think RW has this socks They are Jaguar socks. They are for men with style (and money).

It is forsythia. I have to remember the name. I think that the same trees grow here and Ireland and in England. I think may be South of England is ahead of us here. We have other trees with pink flowers.

I have white small tulips (not as nice as this but good). They are just opening up.

I am having tea with dry apricot and dates. I am reasonable happy after relocating some of the plant in the garden and rehearsing a student on clarinet, teaching the other. I even practised a little.
Where is everyone? There are only socks on the happy thread.

I meant that yours is forsythia, t-p - the "little yellow roses" are kerria, which I thought might be the "yellow bobble tree" mentioned by Kittybriton.

After the forsythia comes the lilac

and the laburnum

 in almost every suburban garden.

The forsythias are everywhere. I am looking forward to white flowers on one of the trees in the garden (We have a tiny gardern). I have no idea what this tree is, but our gardener said it is valuable that it grows there. Here in Ireland they warm up with heating oil and the tree covers the tank a little, but we are keeping it because I said so.
There is a little wild rose (not as many petals). There are two palm like trees.

I love lilacs, they smell so good. They grew well in Russia. They make me nostalgic. Rachmaninoff wrote famous Lilacs song.
You probably have a nice garden Mary.

May be I have an ash tree. I think it looks like that.
It is difficult to post because the site is so slow. However, I am on my way to make my average  number of posts.
