I am just happy to be home after the most boring, boring, boring day at work. I was the only one from the department who was in and only had routine, boring, boring stuff to do. Also it's Friday so two days off work.
Also happy that after my monitor died completely last night, this morning and as from now it is working <crossed fingers emoticom>

Eric the Puter RIP. The while Eric the Idle counteth his wonga and stalks the battlements of Shaftesbury Avenue.
Work PC allows me to breeze in and say a quick Hi. About to move out to Essex over the weekend with housemate and six rural aesthete felines-pics for the cogniscenti asap. Tonight I bask uneasily in the fact that I am about to leave the trough of Edmontoninnit and its rarified scatology, spitoons and sirens far behind (well about 12 miles) via a resilient little abbey where One Ths Tallis was the organist and Ed 1 was buried after a particularly dodgy kebab.
Have a good weekend all and I shall be back when my dongle acclimatises to the haunts of coot and hern.

Ahem. There I was, feeling a little grumpy/nervous because my 35-minute radio slot seems to have been advertised as 25 minutes, which is either a mistake or means they've cut something - I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning. And then I realised I hadn't checked my email since before I went to Tesco, not that I'd expect anything to come in so late on a Friday afternoon. But it had: Dear Mr Now, Please will you write 500 words about [interesting young German composer] by the end of December? That's nice. Time to listen to some microtones I think.

I don't think that I announced this with the fanfare that it deserves, but they fixed my washing machine last week! I was at work but got back to find that the water had been drained, and one of my bath towels had been used to mop up some water. No note or explanation, but it works and I have clean clothes once more!

Done that. I've got to get some towels done today. Not going to put too many in today (worried about overloading the machine given its recent experiences) but it is about time I had a clean bath towel.
