Aha, Martle at last we do have kidnapped you via the combustion engine!

Somebody said The Welsh are the Guerillas of the Southern Hempishere with AA and RAC patrols in their grasp, this proves it!

Right now, I should be taking my seat at Richard Barrett's fine-looking concert in Brighton. I am, however, not. I am still in Wales, car having died this morning (or at least gone into a coma), AA man having failed to make difference, and no garages being open till tomorrow morning. Quite apart from the missed concert, there are other hideous knock-ons from this state of affairs  which I won't bore you with. Suffice to say...

GRUMP.  Angry

At least I've got a laptop to while away some time here on with, dude.

That's very bad news - there are few things more frustrating than a car that won't work when you really need it ....

Hope it's nothing too bad and that it gets sorted tomorrow.

... and I have to confess that I had completely forgotten that Richard's concert was tonight.  Hopeless.  <cursing lack of organisation emoticon>

The AA guy was very funny. Lots of head-scratching and 'well now, look at that bugler...'s, 'I have NO, absolutely NO bluddy idea's, 'Dewi could probably sort you, but, look you, he's away in bluddy Malta, I ask you...' etc.  Grin

Dewi can't sort you out, but a Conversion could?  A Catalytic one?  As opposed to a Non-Conformist Conversion?

I just put "basil fawlty car" into Google, and got loads of images ...

Unlike the AA man who attended my sick car some years ago in Sarf Lunnon, who tinkered under the bonnet, swore a bit, commented on that funny smell of petrol and then lit a cigarette  Shocked

We've just been emailed the rota for helping out with my institution's clearing process.
Apparently we have to attend 10 days (two weeks 9-2:30) of training in order to assist with 2 days of clearing.
And we all have the same amount of duties even those of us on smaller proportional contracts...
I'll less grumpy, more livid.

I would think my parents be right stressed today, as they are moving house from today and finishing tomorrow. They have people in to organise it for them, 81 & 89 respectively(!), so I hope things will  be ok.

No Ollie, surely it means that one has eighty-one folk organising, whilst the other requires eight more. What on earth are they all doing, though? Forming a human chain? Installing lightbulbs? Not for the first time with a bbm post, the mind boggles....

I am passing my time sans laptop/internet quite pleasantly.  Really have to get it fixed though...mostly a matter of hauling it to the out-of-town apple service place. I had hoped to do it today. Tomorrow, I will hope to do it tomorrow. My phone is telling me I'm posting in the happy room, but I don't believe that I am...

Ahem.
