Maybe, Mort, but just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't actually out to get you...  Roll Eyes

Can't say I've noticed any spam on here, bbm. Unless you're referring to the sponsored links at the top of the pages? They're not spam though.

grrrr!  online application forms asking me for gcse-equivalent results.  I can barely remember what subjects I did, much less what my results were.  But there's a big box for them, and I have to put *something* in it

*sigh*

This isn't quite a rant, more of an "I'm scared" - the Lincs Airshow starts tomorrow and we're pretty near a few air bases here.  It feels like we're being buzzed today and something is about to crash into us.  Every 5 minutes something comes so low overhead we can barely hear ourselves think.  Everyone's ducking involuntarily.   Shocked Shocked

Oh boy, can I sympathise with you Ruby. In your position I'd probably have dived underneath the desk by now. Fly pasts, low flying helicopters, anything like that and it's Mort in instant panic mode. I have no idea why. You wouldn't catch me within sniffing distance of an air show. Unless you gave me an awful lot of Valium, earplugs and a blindfold Shocked Shocked

Thanks for the sympathy - fortunately I don't mind it quite that much, it just keeps making me jump!  It's the noise isn't it?  I think it's a perfectly rational reaction, you feel like you're about to be crashed into.

That said, I think we're going to the airshow.  For some reason I'm fine with that because you're expecting stuff to come over. You're not on the phone to your boss discussing a project. ("OK, I'll e-maill you that aaaaAAAARGH!......[pause]... document.")  Cheesy

I think I'm going to have to buy a new boiler. Bad enough in itself, but I can't get rid of a suspicion that British Gas is conning me into it. The boiler's 16 years old, and I have to admit its energy rating isn't good, but it worked fine until it was serviced in May. Ever since, the pilot light has been unstable, and today it's gone out for the third time. It seems a bit of a coincidence that this has happened immediately after the service, in the summer, and at exactly the time that BG is trying to flog new boilers even more than usual.

I'm cross Angry
