One of the many episodes of the evening that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that, just after the arranged meeting time, the pub had big problems with every single one of the beer pumps. For a while they could only serve bottled beers, then they started doing Staropramen again, then back onto a few other pumps, but the lagers were a bit flat. But we managed! Just thought you'd all be terribly excited to hear about that.

I feel cheated. Why is Richard not sporting his cowbells? And what happened to his dirndl?

I'm sure Richard's karate skills had you quaking in your boots, Ian. As long as he doesn't start violently assaulting me armed only with an angklung. Hmmm - 100 uses for a chalumeau?

Morticia, how are you feeling today? Do hope you're better by the time we next all meet up - you were much missed!

Why is Richard not sporting his cowbells? And what happened to his dirndl? There comes a time in the evening when one has to change into something more comfortable, particularly when a spot of karate is on the menu (no pianists were harmed in the making of that photo). Note that this thread has now edged its way into the top 10 topics... does that mean we do have lives after all, or that we don't?

I don't think it proves anything really. But it's nice that life and this strange unreality here were able to mix so pleasantly. Here's Ian uploading some thoughts live from the event.

If you combine that with this (which was being typed whilst the aforementioned photograph was being taken): Hello everyone (especially trained-pianist) from the King's Head in London! I'm sitting here, using a wireless connection, courtesy of the City of London, together with Richard, Ollie, thompson, A, baziron, autoharp, TimR-J, George, Bryn and t-i-n. Hello! You are all missed, those who are not here. This should be a monthly event, I think. will we then get a feedback effect that will send the messageboards haywire? Here goes, let's see......

By all means. It might serve to put off slalkers. Mwahaha! The Radio Three Spelling Spook strikes again! It was only the one Jameson's, honest.

.........and now without the dummy Without the dummy? The dummy's all I can see! Meanwhile here's Bryn and someone else whose identity will perhaps be revealed later should he consent thereto. Note the paparazzi in the background.
