It took me a long time before I could face walking on my own after I was mugged. I'm actually not sure if I have since then.

This is really scary to be mugged. May be one should go in places where there are many people. Or may be one should go without one's walet in shorts, so that it is clear that there is no wallet.
But it is really scary. May be better to stay inside if it is getting dark.

listen to concerts on radio 3 to avoid a mugging ...but preferably not on the bus if there are any shady characters... it sounds like giving in to fear, though....

The better part of valour is discretion, in the which better part I have saved my life.
Shakespeare, Henry IV part ?
I would rather give in to fear than be mugged. Much more sensible.

Before some brigand had whipped 40 quid from my bag,I wasmooching down theOld Kent Rd aftermy labours and the breeze gave it a balmy aspect. Zephyrs hovered through the rutabagas and banana trees.Even after the theft I didnt feel grumpy for one or two reasons

I should imagine I wouldn't be feeling too grumpy if I was seeing rutabagas and banana trees on the Old Kent Rd, m-f!
What did you have for lunch?
PS Sorry about the 40 quid. I had 30 lifted out of the back pocket of my jeans in broad daylight outside Vauxhall tube station on my birthday. Oh well, I recovered. No lasting harm done.
