but I can spell its... I'm sure Roger Hargreaves did a Little Miss Pedant didn't he? The loos at a railway station I often go to don't have anything to lift up - I wish customers would sit down to use those - or use the urinals!

Roger Hargreaves died about 19 years ago so it's a bit odd to see new Mr Men books appearing with his name as the author. The original ones were the best. IIRC his son Adam continued with some more under his own name but now some Mr Greedy is jumping on the band-wagon as I noticed some new titles by Roger Hargreaves in a shop recently.
BTW Roger Hargreaves once hand-drew a card for one of my cousins who had written to him - what a real-life Mr Kind.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

I was never sure why his Timbuctoo books never took off in the same way as the Mr Men.

Oh dear, oh dear. I couldn`t resist having a peek at the Test. I rather wish that I hadn`t. This result is very worrying .... Well done. We can continue to accept you into our society, since at least you have the means to determine where to go to the bathroom. Well, not counting that time that you drunkenly decided that the hood of your neighbour's car was a good place to 'mark your territory'. Yeah, that's right, we know. What can it mean?

The Mr. Men books are being relaunched and in the interest of political correctness Mr. Lazy has been slimmed down and other characters have had their gender change to ensure an equal representation of the sexes. To prove I am not making this up here is a link http://media.guardian.co.uk/marketingandpr/story/0,,2192872,00.html

Weren't the Little Miss books originally launched in the name of equality? The Mr Men books were all about MEN, for heaven's sake! Can't have that .

It has just been announced that The Hungry Caterpillar books are to be withdrawn because they encourage binge eating.

While I hesitate to jeopardize my own glass log cabin, I don't recall that Mr.Hargreaves ever told the story of Mr.Gender-Dysphoria or Little Miss Men-Aren't-Really-My-Thing.
