It's  all very well for intelligent people like you, Mort,

Nicest thing anyone`s said all year, Mary! Grin  You`re quite right of course. Some people do  get taken in by this sort of scam. The thought of the resulting financial chaos makes me shudder.

I got one once from Nigeria.   It's difficult to see how anyone could actually fall for it but I suppose the elderly or desperately hard-up who are clutching at straws are prime targets.  My mother was caught out with one of those holiday scams.  She sent money off and of course nothing materialised and no trace of the money.  If only she'd have consulted me first.  Sad  Having said that, I was caught out myself by a Sky digibox insurance reminder.  It looked absolutely ok.  I paid up - then got another one from a different firm with the same message.  I rang Sky and of course they have their own people and wouldn't have sent out reminders in this way.

Ye Gods!  Cats and computers are a very, very bad combination.  Having now sorted out the feline induced mouse trauma, a short while ago one of the beasts rested his backside on the keyboard and shrank everything! I have no idea what key combination he pressed but he managed to reduce the font size to impossible-to-read-even-with-the-aid-of-the-Hubble-telescope.

Cats! Can`t live with `em, wouldn`t want to live without `em Roll Eyes

The effects soon wear off, Mort. Honest, he'll be fine in a day or two.

(sry: had to post them all)

I thought, for the first time ever, how almost all the pokemon's names are onomatopoeic.  Fascinating, eh?

Believe me Mary. You would be calling them somethiing else if they had just wrecked a chunk of your text or sabotaged your keyboard/mouse. Minutes later you would then be offering them profuse apologies, cat biscuits, smoked salmon and cuddles Grin

Dead cute cat pics, incs. Even though I know the truth that lurks beneath .... Grin

Brilliant radio listening on Sunday afternoons.  I always defect to R4 for Mariella Frostrup and then Poetry Please then back to R3 for Discovering Music.  I don't even mind having to do the ironing.  Time flies.

Gordon Duck! I've just returned from a nice long walk with the dog - in the rain of course - and where I always take him, the paths are all flooded!  I don't remember that ever happening before and I've lived here a very long time.  The water was right up to the top of my wellies!  I waded all the way there and back.  What a good buy those wellies proved to be.  I'll try and send a photo.  They're ace!  They're decorated with pics of chocolates!  I thought if I can't eat them any more I'll wear them.

The tide is in which always means the wind gets up.  It was quite a challenge for me to stay upright on the way back.  Dudley of course was plunging in and out of the floods and swimming in the lake - the big fool  Roll Eyes  No point trying to get dried out because of course it's the school run shortly.  That's the nearest thing to a proper flood I've seen in this area.

And it's still raining!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Still raining here but we did have a dry weekend.  This morning there was only one Severe Flood Warning - now there are 15 Severe Warnings in force  Shocked  The North-Eastern areas seems to be getting the worst of it followed by The Midlands.  So it looks like this really is turning into the most miserable Monday of the year?

Anty, careful with those redundant obliques! The last things we need in these wettest of times are extra slashes. Wink

Increasing levels of flooding going on here in the East Riding - we've been away this weekend (darn sarf) and i don't think it's stopped precipitating here all the time we were away!
